Sunpaw poked his head out of the bushes watching his prey which sat about twenty or so paw steps away from him. "This should be an easy one I'm upwind" He thought and advanced forward slowly. His belly touched the ground as he stopped waiting for the right moment to pounce.
There was rustling in the bushes to the left and Sunpaw immediately turned his head. The small prey ran off hearing the bushes rustle. "I lost prey because of you" He growled as a light brown tabby emerged from the thicket. "Sorry Sunpaw it wasn't on purpose." She looked at him sadly with large brown eyes. "Hickoryfur is going to kill me Deerpaw" Sunpaw sighed straightening up. "I was going to tell you something but you have too much on your mind anyways" She meowed softly and turned to leave. Sunpaw smirked and tackled her. "Sunpaw!" Deerpaw laughed. He licked her nose gently "Hmm?". She felt her pelt burn with embarrassment. "I have to chose between two cats over being mates.". Sunpaw pulled away from her "Oh...". "I'll make my final decision at the warriors ceremony in a few moons." Deerpaw meowed softly getting up.
Sunpaw started heading back to the camp. Deerpaw looked around nervously before running after him. A dark reddish brown tom stopped Sunpaw as he padded into camp. "No prey huh?" He asked looking at Sunpaw. "Sorry Hickoryfur I got distracted.". Sunpaw looked down at his paws not wanting to make eye contact with his mentor. "Well that's something we'll have to work on now isn't it." The tom sighed and padded off. "I'll see you later Sunpaw." Deerpaw meowed softly. "Alright." Sunpaw nodded sadly and watched her pad off. "You like her don't you?" A voice came from behind him and he turned his head to face it. "What gives you that idea Elderpaw?" Sunpaw snorted. "The way you look at her, it's a clear give away Sunpaw" Elderpaw meowed standing next to him. He sighed and nodded. "Lionpaw is making the situation worse"
