I sat and watched the three of them talk and laugh like they were the only ones in the restaurant. Jason's mom is the nicest lady I have met by far.
Her personality is warm and nurturing. She has a smile that'll light a cave and she looked no older then 25.
"You alright ?" Jason asked me just for the two of us to hear since jasmine and Gloria held their own conversation.
"Yeah. You guys are the cutest." I say making him chuckle. His eyes scanned the room and his face fell and my eyes followed his to the door.
"Ma, there go pops." He says standing to greet him and the lady on his arm so I did the same.
"Hi I'm Dee." I smile at the lady who was clearly too uncomfortable to speak as Jason and his father hugged like grown men.
"Jenelle." She smiled shaking my hand." Hi jazzy." She greeted her with a big hug and jasmine kissed her cheek. I looked beside her and ms. Gloria sat unbothered with her wine in her right hand and fork in the other.
I looked to Jason just for a little comfort because the tension began to thicken as jenelle sat down but he and his father looked to be discussing me and I could tell because they both kept glancing at me so I decided to just sit.
"So jasmine I know it's mothers day and all but I got you something." Jenelle says reaching into that beautiful hand bag. She pulled out a box and it was perfectly wrapped with a big pink bow.
Jasmine excused herself reaching across the table as Jason and his father took the remaining two seats. She tore at the white paper on it. She pulled out a cute sliver watchin covered in diamonds and her face grew into a big smile.
"Thank you so much jay jay." She says and Gloria scuffed.
"Dee this is my dad and his wife jenelle." Jason says and I smiled at the two.
"Nice to meet you." I say. The table grew quiet after we properly introduced. While Jason's leg pounced up and down beside me Gloria got another glass of wine. I placed my hand on Jason's thigh to stop the movement and I decided not to let this beautiful time go to waste.
"You want to dance with me jasmine?" I asked because they had this elegant music playing and mostly the old people were dancing. She hopped up and I met her on the dance floor.
"Thank you for saving me." She chuckled. We swayed with each other and she would spin me around since she was taller." Ms. Dee can I ask you something?" She asked me looking over at the table really quickly.
"Yes ?" I say in a questioning tone.
"Well i seen how my dad looks at you and I don't know anything about love trust me but that look is magical." She says and she looked away from me and then back at me again." I guess my question is. Can you not hurt him ? My dad hasn't been with a lady in 15 years and I.." She starts and I scrunched my face up stopping her by stopping our motions. I smiled at her concern it was so cute.
"Jasmine your dad is a really great man but we're honesty only friends. I'm sure there is a million and one other women he would rather be than me. So really there is nothing you have to worry about." I say and she laughed a little and started to say something but she was being pranced away by her grand father who had the biggest smile on his face when she gave him another big hug.
I trailed my way back to the table and caught Jason looking at me but he didn't even bother looking away. I chuckled shaking my head as he stood up with his hand out offering to dance with me.
"Can you dance with me ?" He asked and I nodded my head taking his hand. We did go onto the dance floor but it felt like we did. Like magic dust trickled upon my clumsy ass as I banged not to embarrass myself in front of him." You look beautiful man. I'm so use to the scrubs and the ponytail." He smiles at me.
"Everything you say some how always sounds rude as hell." I tell him making him laugh. He eyes studied me. Like I was book and there were words written in the details in my skin. His touch became softer, room begin to become huge and us. We became the only ones in it.
It always felt special every encounter but sense he comforted me in a way I have never felt in my life I felt connected to home some how.
I remember watching beauty and the beast as a little girl and thinking one day even though I have two left feet I would dance with my true love like that and here I was having that moment with Jason. The person I wouldn't have guessed but definitely have no problem what so ever with.
I could definitely be out of my common sense state of mind but right now I need something good, someone good and he's saying everything I need right now. Everything I can feel.
