Its funny how people told us,
Of things that are not true,
How we shouldn't make friends of strangers,
Or wander off the the beaten path,
But then they demand of us things we have never known,
That make us all confused,
Get friends,
Have good grades,
Be skinny,
That's all you good for,
These demands echo,
As I find out why I've failed,
They don't realize the reason I cannot be this is them,
They told us not to worry,
As they switch our study guild with a simple gift,
And warned us not to fail,
As they burned our souls,
But when someone comes around,
Who had deified the odds,
They say why aren't you like them,
But they should realize we have nothing left to give,
You've kept us in chains and told us to be free,
And you give girls books to balance not read,
You think you know it all,
But there is a point where you run around with blame to give,
As the child they once loved hangs,
With the rope around their neck they seem to be more free,
Than in the comfort of their two story house,
With their massive amounts of money and comfort,
But no matter how much money you have you can't buy love.
