ON

You will only succeed if you let out your own potential . Worthlessness is everywhere and not acceptable. Not everyone can be worth it. So you must promise to be.

I cringed as the metal gate leading to my families estate clanged shut. I heard the sounds of horses (we use many earthen terms). I attempted to hide but our stableboy Joshon came around with Butternut, our newest horse.

"What are you doing home? I know that the public academies are out by now, I'm here, but you, you should be at school for an hour and a half more." He pulled his uncut hair out of his face.

"I am doing so well in my studies they sent me home." I said with no expression. He raised an eyebrow but did not inquire more. Thank Andromeda. "Anyway, is my Maman or Papi here?" I ask. "Please no, please no."  I silently plead. He laughs, he can read me better than anyone. I've known him and he's known me since we were three.

"Don't worry O, no one is here but me right now actually." Curious. Very curious. Right now there should be tons of workers on the estate, fifty-six to be exact. They even live here, the fact that they are gone is weird.

"Why Joshon?" I asked, I could hear how frantic my voice was and wanted to slap myself. He expression was relaxed and he brought his hand downwards, telling me to stop worrying.

"It's fine. The Head Alexander just called all of the adults to a meeting." His tone was calm, but I was going crazy.

"Wait!" I said in a high-pitch squeal. "Um, why?" My voice rose two octaves. His eyebrows shot up again, then slowly made their way back down his forehead.

"Because apparently someone is looking for a way to get off of Alexandria so he is looking to apprehend them and do who knows what else." I tried not to scream. I took three shuddery-deep breaths and squeaked out a thanks before racing into our mansion. My father is the Prime Alexander, the second-in-command. I should have expected this. Of course their would be government workers here frequently in disguise, probably more for protection, no of course for protection. My father would never try to hurt the Head Alexander.

I raced through the large entry way and up a double stair-case inlaid with gold. I weaved my way though countless hallways and rooms, until I reached a small door marked "Ocean" My room. I opened the door with it's beautiful, fading, sea-green paint and raced up the small, rickety, spiraling staircase, up into my very own tower.

At the top I reached another door, sea-green and marked with my name. I grabbed the large, bronze, rusted key around my neck and threw open the door. My room had not a thing out of place, well, everything was like how it was when I left it in the morning. I sighed in relief, and walked over to what should have been the east wall of the circular room. I flopped down on my bed, my color theme was sea-green and navy, my two favorite colors. My hair in fact matched them.

Finally, after a few minutes, I got up off of my four-poster canopy and walked over to my west side vanity. I opened a drawer and applied some navy lipstick. Then I straightened my circlet and made sure the large diamond hanging off of it was securely in the middle of my forehead. Once I was sure my appearance was fine, my wide-necked loose sweater and short-shorts were also fine, along with my diamond-decked sandals. I raced out of my room, careful to lock all doors behind me.

I went down to the kitchen and grabbed some Frozen Cream, my favorite treat. As I sat eating I planned out how long it should take for me to successfully create something that could successfully take me to earth. Twenty-four days, that was all I needed.

After I had finished the carton I tossed in the disposal tube and walked outside. Joshon was grooming my horse, Seafoam. I smiled, she was such a beautiful horse, and I had dyed her coat to match my pride and joy, my hair. I was not only this super cool freak with a weird brain, I was also the hottest girl on our planet. I even modeled occasionally. I may not be average, but nobody notices me somehow. Maybe it's a natural gift, if so, I am very grateful for it.

"Josh," I said, calling Joshon by his nick-name, "I need Seafoam." His face was puzzled, I sighed. "I want to go to the meeting. Plus, I need to, well, it's just, I just need Seafoam, okay?" I begged silently with my eyes, body, and face. Finally after a few minutes of our eyes locked in battle, he agreed and handed over her reins. "Thanks!" I said giving him a peck on the cheek, not an uncommon thing between close friends.

I jumped on Seafoam and galloped across white, marble roads. Soon I was standing in front of the main government building, Alexandrios. A man was waiting for me, probably was ordered to stand there and take the horses to a stable. I handed her reins over to him, he kept his eyes low, slaves.

I ran inside, bursting through the main doors. Luckily, no one could hear the sound over the Head Alexander's fit.

"WE MUST FIND THIS TRAITOR!" He screamed into the speaker. "NO KID COULD DO THIS! If activity such as this continues, all of you will be looked into . Except for, of course, the Prime Alexander's family and servants." I sighed in huge relief and sank to the floor, but wait. he could still find out. I leaped to my feet. I had to talk to him, I had to make him understand.

"Now, anyone who needs to meet with me come to my chambers in the back of this hall. Dismissed!" He looked weary and quickly left to his rooms. I followed behind fast, and stealthily.

"Head Alexander?" I said, allowing myself in his door.

"Yes." Replied a tired voice from a large, overstuffed chair.

"I am the one who you call traitor." That got him up. He leaped up and turned around to see me. His eyes widened.

"Little Ocean?" he said in disbelief. I nodded. "How could it be you, oh. You have that weird brain thing and exceptional gifts and power. I forgot. Why though. Why on Andromeda's glory?" he said. I felt a few tears spring to my eyes and wiped them away.

"Because," I said, my turn to have a weary voice. "I don't fit in here. I may be amazing or whatever, but I am unnoticed! I want to go somewhere where I will be great!" I said with a few random tears falling out of my eyes. I wiped them away angrily.

"It's alright." He said soothingly, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Just promise to work on it here, and then show me you're ending result." I nodded.

Show you my ending results my butt!
