THE BAD BOY AND THE CHEERLEADER
PROLOGUE
My name is Gianna. I have the perfect life and I hate it. For years now I have lived the life I am 'supposed to'. The American Teenage Girl Dream. But that dream isn't mine. I have my own dreams, but I also have expectations. The expectations of those around me, who they expect me to be. My mom got pregnant with me when she was sixteen, same age I am now. She missed out on so much of her youth, that she now lives through me. I love her to death, so I can't find it in my heart to disappoint her.
You probably are thinking right now, how is her life so 'perfect'? Well, I had the good fortune of being born beautiful. Sometimes, I think of it as more of a curse. I'm not just your average pretty girl, I am one of those girls that are so beautiful that even straight, heterosexual females take a second glance at while passing on the street. Even though it isn't in a sexual way, it still creeps me out.
Well, I guess I better explain better, just so you get the picture. I am 5'8", wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, high cheekbones, full lips, small nose, hourglass figure, natural tan. Sounds great doesn't? It's not.
At school the other kids flock to me like I'm the messiah and boys stare at me like I'm Angelina freakin Jolie. The girls dream of being like me and the boys dream of being with me. Every day I feel as though a little more is dying on the inside. Like I'm suffocating, screaming and crying on the inside.
My only relief is Saturdays, on Saturdays I get to be me. Every Saturday the suffocation lessens, I get to be who I really am, but come Sunday morning, hell begins all over again.
This is how it's been for years, this is all I expected it to be like for years to come, little did I know that you can't know what will happen in life. And that you never know when someone will come along and turn your life upside down.
