Bella's POV

"Don't be so angry at me, please. I'm just worried about you and I think this may help you." My mother sighed, pushing a strand of my blonde hair, that had refused to stay in it's place, back behind my ear. I held back a scoff and swallowed hard, opening the car door as slowly as I could. "I'll be back here at 4:45 to pick you back up, okay?" I nodded and muttered a weak 'okay', and shut the car door

It's not that my mom was a bad person, she was quite the opposite. I remember when I was in fourth year, she spent all of winter break at the homeless shelter. She helped to make them food and went out and bought them warm blankets. She would come home everyday after the shelter and cry into my father's chest, saying how lucky we are and how we should be more appreciative. My mother, is that type of person who just talking to her will put you in a better mood.

Her tires squealed against the pavement as she made a wide U-turn out of the parking lot. I watched her rusted, '07 Jetta, until it became just a blue blob against the horizon. "Bye mom." I whispered to myself, turning to look at the looming, brick, office building.

I entered the facility and instantly the smell of coffee and old furniture surrounded me. I looked over at the secretary's desk and there sat a girl that I once knew. She hadn't taken notice of me yet, despite the ding that the bell made as I opened the front door. She had lilac hair that fell in waves and ended right below her shoulder blades. Her light blue eyes shot around the room until they landed on me. A small, sympathetic smile rested on her lips as she called me over.

Game face, Bella. Smile. I forced a big cheesy smile, something I found myself getting good at in the past few months, and walked over to her. "Ari! I haven't seen you since September, how are you?" Perrie excitedly said, running from around the desk to envelop me in her arms.

The strong scent of strawberries and cream mixed with mango perfume surrounded us as her arms wrapped around me. At least she still smells the same. My arms came around her too and we stood in the middle of the lobby, embraced in each others' arms. "I'm getting by," I admitted, "how about yourself?"

"I've been alright," Perrie said sheepishly, "Zayn proposed to me." It was then we parted from our hug and I grabbed her hand excitedly, examining each finger till I saw it.

"God, that's a big rock." I commented, smiling ear-to-ear. "I'm so happy for you, pear-bear." I threw my arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"You know Zayn, he goes big or goes home." She giggled, hugging me again. "But thank you, he-"

Perrie stopped mid-sentence and broke from our hug. She mumbled, "My boss is coming. I'm sorry, continue this conversation later tonight? At Levi's?" I nodded back and smiled,

"That sounds great and since you're back behind the desk, I might as well say I have an appointment with Greene today." I said as she typed things into the computer, she nodded and smiled.

"The doctor's ready for you in room 39, the first door on the right." Perrie informed, pointing down the hallway to the left of us. "It was so nice to see you again, Bells. We were all so worried about you."

I nodded and gave her a little wave as I walked down the hallway and into room 39. Outside of the room, a name plate was attached to the wall. Vera Greene. The door was wide open and the psychiatrist sat at her desk click-click-clicking away on her keyboard. Across from her desk was an old, faded couch and an armchair in the far corner of the room. Bookshelves took up most of the space in the large room and pictures of baby animals scattered across the walls.
