Craig's/Mini's POV

I grab a cup of coffee and plop down on my couch. I sink into the comfortable cushion and grab the TV remote. I flip through various channels until I find one that pleases me, a golf tournament. I watch the television intently until a loud buzzing sound jumps out of the speakers. I squeal in surprise and fall out of my chair. I look up at my TV with wide eyes. "Warning!!! A very contagious disease as began to spread across the world! It is known as Y12, an order has gone out from the president that if you see anyone that is contaminated with the wretched disease you must kill them on site. A cure has yet to be found, but we have the best scientists from all over the world working on an antidote. You can obtain the illness by being bitten or scratched by those contaminated. For now, everyone is ordered to collect anything to assist you in your surv- AHHHHH!!!!" A female voice says on the TV before she screams, followed by a loud thud and an inhuman groan. My blood goes cold as the warning is replaced by the golf tournament, but there's something very different about it. Instead of playing golf, the golfers are running for their lives. Bodies litter the ground and there's grey figures limping, walking, crawling, and running around. "Holy shit..." I whisper to myself before I hear a loud thud followed by my neighbor's blood-curdling scream. My body goes pale as I just sit there. There's a few moments of silence before I hear a loud banging on my door. I freeze and stare at it for a minute, unable to move. I gain some sort of strength in my body, so I slowly stand up and walk over to the door. I stare through the hole that sits high on the door and look through it to see the exact same creature I saw on television. I stumble backwards in fear, running into my bedroom and grabbing the book bag I used in college. I emptied its contaminates and grabbed a few outfits, a jacket, a coat, some canned food, some bottle water and a filled canteen, my pocket knife, and some ammo for my emergency pistol. I grab my pistol and creep towards the door. The banging grows louder as I get closer. As I'm about to open the door to shoot the beast, it breaks through the door and stumbles on top of me. I scream and grab my bag, putting it between me and the creature that resembles a zombie from a video game. The creature tries to bite me, but my bag is keeping him from harming me in any way, shape, or form. I would shoot him, but if I move I'm dead. As I'm struggling, I get a risky yet simple idea. I quickly flip myself over and jump off of the ground. Before the beast could react, I shot it in the head. I let out a relieved sigh as it's body goes limp. I stand there for a moment before I realized what I had just done. I shot someone... I just shot someone! That used to be a person!!! Well... It used to be. I let out a long sigh and pick up my bag. I cautiously make my way out of the apartment building. I get to the lobby and gasp when I look through the glass doors. There's hundreds of them! I can't leave! I groan and think for a moment. I guess its kind of safe here... Well... No it's not. All of the doors in this place are wooden and that 'zombie' was able to break it. Wait! There's one steel door here, but it leads to the roof. Well, it beats dying. I could sleep outside! With that I smile, grab the keys to the door from behind the receptionist's desk, and walk up the stair case to the roof. I reach the big steel door and open it, waking outside into the warm air of the day. I lock the door and lean against it. I slowly slide down into a sitting position and take off my bag, sitting it by my side. I sit there for a moment before crawling over to the edge of the roof and looking down. All of the creatures are roaming around, but every once in a while, I'd see a person running across the streets. Well, at least I'm not the only one trapped in this shit hole... I crawl back to my spot against the door and do my best to get comfortable. I wonder what's going to happen next? I hope I can survive this...

Welp, I hope you like the new book! I've never really written anything 'zombie' related, so I don't exactly know how good this book is going to be. Btw, if you haven't noticed I'm basing this book on the Call of Duty franchise... So yeah. That kinda gives you a little heads up I what to expect. Thank you for reading!
