Alan yawned slightly as he sat down in the camp folding chair he had put outside since he had turned back to a full human about six years ago. The hot 92-degree weather of Santa Carla was now becoming a cooling 72 degrees. He had been helping his brother all day fixing surfboards, preparing for the night hours, and getting their place slightly more liveable. They had been talking about getting a trailer now that the two brothers had other company who stayed with them, it was slightly getting cramped. Alan closed his eyes he could feel his energy from the morning had dropped with all the work he did in the heat. This is where times he slightly missed being a vampire. His energy could go for hours and he wouldn't feel a change. Not that he would tell his brother at any point in time that he missed being a vampire. He let him live once he doubted he would let him live again.
Alan opened his eyes and smirked, hearing music at a distance slowly becoming louder. The music of Emilie Autumn was blasting. It wasn't until the Laguna blue 2015 Chevrolet stingray got closer did hear the words to the song 'Fight like a girl' by Emilie Autumn. He tapped on the RV with his fist and called to his brother. "Your dark mistress is coming."
By the time Edger walked out of the RV the stingray was parked and an athletically built woman with blond hair and ice blue tips that came to her shoulders was emerging from the car. He shook his head when he saw the woman was in a pair of ripped jean shorts that came to just above her knees, sneakers with ankle socks, a light blue bikini top with a long sleeve plaid shirt thrown over, and a pair of black sunglasses on. He smirked slightly looking the woman over. "Stealing my shirts again are we?"
"Not stealing if I bring it back," She smirked when Edger rolled his eyes. "You're so adorable when you're not killing vampires," She spoke in a joking tone before opening her trunk.
Edger sighed slightly, "And sees I can't even talk smack about you." He watched her go to her trunk and shook his head seeing her unpacking store bags. "How many times do I have to tell you we can buy our own food?" He watched as Alan quickly got out of the chair to help her unpack.
The woman shot Edger the deadliest glare where if they weren't dated he would fear for his life. "And how many times have I told you I'm not letting my Frog boys starve, your repair shop is slow along with vampire hunting since you turned your undead brother back." She glanced at Alan. "No offence."
Alan took the last bags out of the car and shook his head looking for the woman. "None took since we killed a head boss man it had been slow." He started bringing the bags in.
Edger got in the woman's face - or the best he could with his height 5 foot 9 inches and her being 5 foot 6 inches- and growled slightly. "Lilly I told you that we can handle ourselves and I mean it."
Lillian removed her sunglasses and glared into Edger's brown eyes with her green and ice blue eyes - or as Alan called them 'her weird soul eyes' since there was a ring of ice blue color around the pupil and then around that was a green ring - she spoke with almost a hiss in her tone. "I know what you said Edger and I just want to make sure the next time a swarm of vampires comes you boys have your strength and aren't hungry . And," She then smacked Edger on the nose with a finger causing him to fall back from the fight, "and that's for growling at me after I bought you beers." She picked up the last bags and had followed Alan into the Rv.
Edger ran his hand over his nose slightly taken back by being smacked on the nose as if he was a dog. He then shook his head and headed in with his brother and his girlfriend. He gently pushed Lilly out of the way to sit and helped his brother put stuff away. In his mind, it was the less he could after she bought them food to last for a month or two. "So you spending the night Lilly."
Lillian after being forced to sit and starting to flip through a book of werewolves that was on the table she picked her head up when Edger asked if she was spending the night. " I was thinking about it why?" She glanced at Alan and saw a 'you really asking that' look and tilted her head as Edger started to make something. She then knew what Alan's look meant when a glass was slightly slammed in front of her she pouted and looked to Edger. "Do I really have too?"
Edger crossed his arms and nodded. "You know my rules about you with your special issues."
Lillian growled slightly hearing him say 'special issues'. "I don't have issues you do."
Alan shook his head. "Can't do a proper fang check," he hooked one of his fingers to the corner of his mouth and pulled showing the maxillary cuspid showing a normal human 'fang' size.
Edger pointed to Lillian. "You have vampire fangs so you prove that you aren't the undead."
Lillian grabbed the glass still pouting she hated the frog juice. It wasn't the garlic or holy water that bothered her. It was the raw egg that made her always want to gag no matter how many times she drank it since she started dating Edger. She chugged the drink the best she could and got a chill up her spine trying not to gag as she felt the raw egg slid down her throat. " And they are not as long as the vampires." She looked down again feeling a chill up her spine from holding back gaging. "They are just sharp,"
Edger smirked when she downed the frog juice and saw her semi shiver out of disguise. "Still better safe than sorry on my part," He then did something he wouldn't do around anyone but his brother. He cupped her chin and kissed her on the lips before taking the glass and going to the sink.
Alan smiled seeing the soft side of his brother, and most likely besides Lillian would be the only one who saw this soft side of his brother. Which was nice knowing the hundreds or so vampires they have killed and over the years for him to have a soft side for someone was nice. To him, it showed that Edger wasn't just a vampire killing machine he was still human in an emotional way. Alan glanced towards Lillian who was now playing with her hair. "So what did you do during the morning hours?"
Lillian smiled still playing with her hair. "Well went surfing for a while then went to work for a few hours then went shopping and then came here. " She smiled sweetly when she heard Edger's groan of disapproval of the word work. She knew he had no problem with work it was the fact she worked for her dad. She knew the brothers had their parents trying to push the comic book business on them. But she wasn't going to complain that's where all her money come from and since it was the family she got to work when she wanted it wasn't determined for her like others. "Looking at the mess around here I assume you boys are stocking up." She looked towards the bottles of water and the wooden stakes in the corner. "There a group that I don't know about around?" she glanced towards the brothers.
Edger after finishing packing turned and faced her leaning on the counter. "No, but better safe than sorry in this day and age with that stupid idea that the undead is romantic."
Lillian shook her head and said something that Alan had to chuckle about. "I hate those books," she shifted some when Alan and Edger went to sit at the table. "Friends are trying to get my to read that junk." She was flipping the pages again of the werewolf book. "You know Edger I could bring you my collection. I was a collector of werewolf books. "She smiled at him when he nodded. She then leaned on Edger as she started to actually read the book vs. just flipping the pages. She smiled more when the boys went to back to their normal talk about little things. She didn't care if the boys attention wasn't on her she just loved being in the area and being in the same room as them.
