Elizabeth's POV

I'm so scared. My family doesn't know what's going on and they expect me to have all of the answers. All I know is what Tate told me and how do I know what he said is true. What if this whole thing is a dream. Am I in Heaven? No, this seems more like Hell. Maybe I'm in a coma in the hospital right now with my family waiting for me to wake up. I wish these conclusions made me feel better but this all seems too real to be a dream. If I'm dead then how come I don't remember dying? How many ghosts are in this house? How long will I be here?  So many questions and I don't know where to get the answers.

I walk down the stairs into the dark and depressing basement. I make slow steady steps until I reach the bottom. I see someone moving around the corner. My heart beats faster as I reach the room. I turn the corner, a man with a doctor's mask over his face turns around.

" Has my wife medicated you, do you have an appointment?" The man asks. I scream and run upstairs, is he dead?  I hear footsteps coming down the stairs.

"Please don't hurt me!" I scream in terror.  I go into the corner across from the stairs that go downstairs and cradle myself. This is too much to handle. What am I going to do? I look up to see who or what was coming down the stairs, to my surprise it was a teenage girl. She looks at me in confusion, then shock. She approaches me and kneels by my side.

" Who are you?" My voice shaking.

"My name is Violet, I'm sorry this happened to you. You do know what happened to you right? What's your name?" She says, her voice calm.

"My name is Elizabeth and I think I know what happened to me, I'm not sure what to believe."

"How do you know what happened to you, did you talk to anyone?"

" Um ya, this guy named Tate." Her mood changed. She seemed angry yet worried.

" Don't ever talk to him again, he's dangerous." She gets up and starts walking away.

"Wait! I have so much to ask." She walks back to where she was kneeling before and sits next to me.

"What do you want to know"

Hours later

Why doesn't Violet want me to talk to Tate. What did he do? I forgot to ask her. I was so busy thinking about how many dead people that were drifting along in my house while I was sleeping at night and what happened to Violet's family when she lived in this house. How did the fire start in the first place? No one was cooking, we had an inspection the day before the fire. Why would anyone want to harm my family, what did we do to deserve this?
