They opened a portal and arrived at China, but they were on Mount Fuji, one of the mountains that is really cold and high. They asked Nicole to teleport them to the bottom, and it took them 2 hours, but they managed to teleport down. They arrived to a small town at night and stayed in a small inn, they rented a room for a night, and settled in. They talked about what will be their plan.
"So what do we do now, guys?" Daniel was in bad shape after the long travel.
"Me and Mark will go look around and see if other ghouls are nearby, you stay here for now and rest"
"What? Why am I going while he's taking a break? That's not fair"
"Because I said so, and if it weren't for me, you would've died when we were little"
"Fine, but when we come back, I call dibs on a better bed to sleep on"
"Okay, you'll get the better bed, now let's go"
They left the room, with Daniel alone in their room and their stuff. Hm, I wonder what was their childhood like? And what happened with them when they were little? Oh well, nevermind, probably none of my business, he thought.
A waitress was knocking on the door and asked if he needed anything, he told her he didn't need anything right now, and the waitress left his room.
(Few minutes later)
Nicole and Mark arrived and came back, tired. Mark landed on the best bed, the one with a window view, Nicole laid down on the bed next to Daniel, and started sleeping.
"So, how were things out there with Nicole?"
"Well, we looked around, but so far, no ghouls and no signs of government officials"
"That's good to know that we can sleep easily for the night"
"Yeah, your right, anyway, I'm gonna sleep, night, dude"
"Night, Mark"
I'll ask either Mark or Nicole about it, but maybe not now, it might make them reimagine the pain they had in the past, he thought and went to sleep.
Morning came, and all three of them woke up at the same time, they got changed, and prepared themselves, and left the inn. They paid for the room, and they went somewhere to have a hideout.
"So, where can we hide ourselves?"
"Well, laying low for awhile and finding a place will take some time, but it should be good enough for us so the government can't find us quickly"
"How about we hide in a forest?"
"I think that's a good spot, but do we build a tree fort?"
"It wouldn't hurt to give it a try"
"Alright fine, but I wanna work on the design"
"It better not be small, Nicole"
"I know! But let's work on it now"
They took a few hours to make a tree fort and it turned out really well, it looked like a modern house turned into wood. They took a break and laid down on a tree with a shade, blowing a calm, cold breeze, causing them to relax and fall asleep.
"(Sigh), I never thought I felt more relaxed than ever"
"Me either, I'm glad we did this"
"Well, u and Nicole can have ur chat, I'm going inside and sleep, I'm out of energy"
"Okay fine"
He went in, leaving them alone at the bottom.
"I wonder if this can last forever, everlasting calmness in a forest on a hill"
"Yea, and hey, I wanna know what was your childhood like with Mark"
"Well, I guess I could tell you now, so listen up, Daniel"
And she began telling her past.
