I slowly drag the cool metal across my stomach. Watching the beautiful dark red blood come out. I hear a knock on my bathroom door.

"Alexis!" Ms. Andrew yells, "Someone is here to meet you. Hurry up."

I quickly get up and wipe the blood of my blade with a tissue. Then I rewrap my stomach with gauze pads. Pulling down my oversize Asking Alexandria jacket, I walk out of my bathroom. As I'm walking hallway and down the stairs to the adoption office, I'm greeted by stares, whispers, and points. I knock on the stain glass door.

"Come in," Ms. Andrew greets.

I walk in the room slowly. Not ready to hear the sounds of disgust coming my way. Or the look as if I killed someone in a ritual.

"Sit," She commands.

I do as she says and sit in a chair to my right keeping my head down.

"This is Victor Fuentes. He wants to adopt you."

I slowly look up and see the one and only Vic Fuentes sitting in the chair across from me. I give him a little wave and a small smile. He smiles brightly back at me.

"This is Alexandria Woolley."

"Hey there, I'm Vic." I nod slightly.

"Oh I forgot to say she's also mute. Meaning she doesn't talk but she can hear," Ms. Andrew explains.
He nods his head and puts on a thinkful look as he stares at me. I look back to the floor feeling uncomfortable at the stares.

"Why don't you go pack up your stuff while he fills out your papers?" Ms. Andrew asks strictly.

I get up and walk out the food keeping my head down. 'Don't make eye contact,' I tell myself as a walk up the stairs. Its deadly quite for some reason and its either because they planned something or its breakfast. But something tells me its not breakfast.
As I get to the last stair I am greeted with a cold, red, ice liquid hitting my entire body. The whole room burst into hysterics. I hear a door slam and everyone freezes. No one making a single move or sound.

"What in the name of hell?!?! Alexandria!!" Ms. Andrew booms.

She pulls me by my hair earning a yelp coming out of my throat. I'm dragged all the way down into the girls bathroom.

"You think its fun, don't you? For me to go through all this paper work for you? All these people think they can fix you. But they cant," she threatens as she turns on the how water.

I shake my head violently and scoot backwards till my back hits the door. She mimics back, shaking her head yes just as violently. I reach up to the door knob and use it to lift my weight. I open the door quickly and lunge out.

"Oh, no you don't!" I hear Ms. Andrew speak.

I run into her office and see Vic sitting there confused. I close the door and jump in his arms, trying the best I can to hide.

Ms. Andrew throws the door open and stomps in. I feel Vic's arms tighten around me as I bury my head in his neck.

"I will do the paper work online if you don't mind. And I am taking my daughter up stairs to get her stuff and then we are leaving. After I get home and fill out the paper work, I will call the cops on you for child abuse," Vic sternly says.

He gets up with me still in his arms and walks up stairs. A tear rolls down my face as we get into my room. He sets me down carefully.

"You want to get your stuff now?" he asks nicely.

I nod and go under my bed to grab my small suit case. I throw my cloths in there. Which is just two pants, 3 shirts, and 2 sweaters. As well as 6 pairs of panties and 2 pairs of socks. After I go in to the bathroom and grab my make up bag which consist of eyeliner, lipstick and an extra bag that has pills, blades and a few cigarettes. I throw the bag into my suit case as well and close it up. I put on my black vans and grab my white board with my two Ariel hobo bags.

'Ready,' I write on it.

"Okay, then let's go," Vic says calmly.

He puts out his hand for me to grab and we walk out of my room.  As we walk the halls leading outside, no one speaks or points. They just stare. We hop in his car after putting my stuff in the back.

"Are you okay?" Vic asks.

I nod in response. Its a silent 30 minute drive from the orphanage to the house. His house isn't too big. Just a small 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with an extra garage that's turned into a recording studio.

"Here we are," Vic opens the food to the house. He takes my stuff and leads me too the closest bedroom. Its a small room with a walk in closet and its own half bathroom.

I write thanks on my white board.

"No problem. So I'll leave you to settle in and then you can come out when you want?" Vic asks.

I nod and go to unpack.
