*Mikayla's POV*
I sat down my suitcase and turned around. I cant believe it's finally happening, I think, i'm finally finally leaving this god-forsaken town.
Nothing good has ever happened to me in Ohio. Like, Ohio? Its got to be the most boring town in the whole country. It even sounds lame. Ooohiioooo.
I turn around and look at my best friend Maddy, and smile. Shes leaning against her car, waiting for me.
"Ready?" She asks. I nod my head, and head towards the car.
After driving for about three hours, we finally pass a sign. The sign that says 'You are now leaving Ohio. Come back soon!' I might come back, I think, if I have to.
*MAGICAL TIME WARP BECAUSE DRIVING IS BORING*
I feel something nudge my arm. Slowly I open my eyes, but quickly shut them, realizing how bright it is outside. Straightening up in my seat, I let my eyes adjust and look over to the hand that nudged me.
"We're here, Mikayla," Maddy says, barely containing her excitment, "We're finally here."
When me and Maddy were 13, we agreed that as soon as we graduated we would move to Texas. And here we are. I look outside my window and see that were passing over a bridge, and ahead of us to the right is a sign that says 'Welcome to Texas, The Lone Star State!"
Smiling, I lean my head back and close my eyes. I can't believe we're actually here.
*skip more boring driving*
I slam the trunk and run towards the double doors, more excited than I've probably ever been. As I approach the doors they slide open automatically, and I walk into the lobby of our apartment, Maddy trailing behind me. It was breathtaking. Hanging from the ceiling is a giant silver chandelier, and there's a glass statue of some woman standing in the middle of lobby. Maddy goes to right, to check in and find our room number. After a few moments of being in awe I follow behind her.
"Hello. May I help you?" Said the man at the front desk.
"Uhm, I'm Madelyn Smith and this is Mikayla Young. We rented a room here?"
He types something into the computer in front of him, "Oh here we are. Madelyn and Mikayla. Here are your keys, and you are on the 12th floor," he hands Maddy the keys, "the penthouse suite, correct?"
"Yes. Thank you!" Maddy says, grinning.
Maddy started to walk towards the elevator, and I stay where I was standing, my mouth hanging wide open. Maddy looks at me, as if saying 'what are you waiting for? Come on.' Eventually I start walking towards her, my mouth still hanging wide open.
"You got the penthouse suite?! I thought we were just getting a regular apartment?" I whisper-scream at her.
"Kay, we've been waiting for this for 5 years. It wouldn't be as exciting if we had a regular suite," she tells me and winks, "and besides, my mom said she'd pay for our room and our food until we get a job."
*time waaarrp sorry I don't wanna just add a ton of boring unpacking stuff XD*
"Hey Kayla, I forgot my phone in the car.. You should go get It for me," Maddy pleads and gives me the puppy eyes.
"I would normally say to go get it your damn self, but I kinda wanna see the lobby again. So yes I will."
After grabbing Maddy's phone out of the car, I unlock it and start scrolling through her Instagram feed. I laugh as I see a quote from one of my favorite minecraft videos, one from captainsparklez. Apparently I wasn't watching were I was going, because as I turn a corner on my way to the doors I bump into someone running from the opposite way, and they knock me down. Instantly I recognize the face. After a few seconds of being completely shocked, the person scrambles off of me.
"Oh uh.. Sorry, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" He extends a hand to me to pull me up, I take it, and he pulls me with ease.
"Its okay.. I uh, I should have been watching where I was going," I blush.
"Oh hey, didnt you just move into the penthouse suite?" He asks.
"Yeah, me and my friend..." I told him, trying to contain myself.
"I'm Jason," he says smiling, "I live on the 7th floor."

So yeah, I present u with a very overdue chapter! It's not the best I can do, I wrote most of it after a wedding so I was exhausted. this chapters kinda bring, introducing a few characters and stuff. In a few more chapters it'll get exciting and all da drama an stuff c: yayy drama. I'll post again in a couple days, school and stuff, Bleh, meh, <3
