Daisy May above (as I imagine her) but with a lot more curly hair!

I had stayed in bed for almost two hours now, not even going up for chocolate. Something was wrong with me. My stomach hurt and it felt like my soul was drained. I sensed my mother knocking at the door and I mumbled as an invitation. She stepped inside with a plate of eggs and bacon and some apple juice. "It's noon, are you sure you shouldn't get out of bed? Just to get some air or something to eat?"
I mumbled into my pillow as she placed the food on my bedside table. "No, mom. I don't want to move a muscle unless I absolutely have to"
"Well, then I say you have to. I really want you to be healthy for the crowning tonight. This is really important for Kieran, you know that. And people from all over the country is coming and maybe you'll find your-"
"Don't say it" I growled at her and she looked taken back by me. "Daisy May!" she said and I turned my face away. "I'm sorry, I have a really sore throat and my body hurts. I'll try to be alright till tomorrow but I can't promise anything"
She left a kiss on my cheek and stood up. "Alright. But open up your windows, it smells like teen-sweat in here"
It was true. Not the teen sweat part. The part about finding my mate. My mate would surely be at the gathering tomorrow to witness my brother's crowning. He was becoming Alpha, or more like, Alpha in learning. It was a big deal, I got it. I wasn't feeling that bad but I couldn't turn up at the crowning with bruises and cuts all over my body.
When my mom walked out the door, I jumped out of bed and took a moment to smell my armpits. I didn't smell that much, did I? I listened to my mother and opened up the great windows. Outside, I saw lycans practicing by the great lake. Some newbies and some more experienced ones. I laughed hysterically at a guy who fell on his butt before I composed myself and remembered all the lessons I've been told about being a lady. A highborn like me were to be graceful, luscious and feminine. All the things I weren't.
People had been preparing for the gathering for days, it was to be held outside, even though tonight would be slightly cool. I had never seen a crowning before but the idea of it all was that Kieran would shift and lycans would eat, girls would be thrown around but in reality, it was an excuse to party. I watched them as I showered. In my shower, there were two tall windows, pervy, perhaps, but no one could see in although I could see out. I was on the seventh floor so when I looked down, all I could do was swoon over the height.
After I ate my breakfast and showered, two maids came into my room to help me get dressed. One was older than me, probably in her early forties, the other one was younger than me, probably twelve or thirteen. She was really pretty.
"Do you have something special in mind, miss?"
I looked in my wardrobe and pretended to care. "Something long and black that covers my body"
I smiled at the lady but she frowned deeply. "But," she said. "Are you sure? Wouldn't you be more comfortable in something lighter? Would you really want your future mate to see you in something like this?" she showed me a dress with long sleeves that reached the floor. It was deep purple with black details on it. This wouldn't draw anyone's attention, this wasn't too fancy or too dull. It was perfect. "Yes, I like that one"
The maid wasn't surprised, although she probably thought I was mad. The girls who live in lycan societies are all taught to serve their mate. Lycans often wanted something more... feminine and pretty. They wanted small, submissive girls that they could possess over. The maid was confused. "I'm sorry, miss, but I don't think that dress is such a good idea. I- I mean, what shoes will you wear?"
