The first thought pondered on my mind when my unnie went home in that snowy christmas eve. Snow encrusted all the visible things outside, especially the roofs, It turned icy white.
I already knew I have a sister but we barely see each other before. Mommy said unnie was always staying in the hospital, It was like her first home. Except that christmas eve, she finally stepped in a real home not the one with white corridors and empty beds.
Our house.
That christmas eve seemed normal, the usual arrangements you always see every year. Extravagant dishes, colorful decorations, chattering of family relatives and assorted gifts. But something that night made It the most memorable yet a painful one.
Unnie went home.
A wide eyed girl with petite physique appeared before my eyes. Im 10 yrs old and mommy said unnie is already 15 but oddly looked like 13yrs old. She was wearing a collared white dress with lacy designs at the end of her skirt.
"Jiyeon-shhi, this is your unnie
Her name is Jieun."
Mommy told me when unnie was beside her.
"Having an unnie isn't bad at all"
