"For I am convinced that neither death nor life...will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

-Paul
Romans 8:38-39.  (NIV)

*************************

Death is just a word. You cannot see it nor feel it. You cannot taste it or smell it. It is like a thief in the night where there is no hints when it will attack.

Many fears this word but nobody can really fathom its depth or meaning.

Some defined it as the separation of the mind from the body. Others said that is the dying of one's soul and still others conveyed it as the return of oneself to its original state, dust.

But, dying never crossed my young mind. I always thought that I can do great things in my future. That I could impact people with my life. However, the Creator must have other plans for me...

These are the thoughts lingering in her mind as she walk through the gloomy streets until she realizes that she is in unfamiliar grounds.

What is this place? Where am I?

She don't know how long she has walked. She can't even count how much time has passed.

Where am I?
Grrrrrrr! Oh, how stupid of me?
I don't know this place. Have I been here before?

Ugggh! I can't remember. Why can't I remember!?

Then, she look around at the place where she is standing. All she can see are tall trees. Big and tall trees with vines around it, making a small pathway. The place is a bit eerie and is creepy for her liking.

What's up with all these trees anyway? This place is so giving me the creeps! Why trees everywhere? It's green over here and green over there? Ugggh!

It is very creepy.

"Ugh! I think I'm going crazy!?!", she shouted.

"Where the heck am I?", she asked herself.

Now, she thinks that its funny that she is talking to herself.

Have I really gone crazy?

Yeah, I'm crazy.....

Yes, must be it.

I am crazy...

and

....dead.

...dead...

...dead...

This thought suddenly saddened her. And a new thought came.

"Why did I die?", she asks herself.

She was lost in her thoughts that she found no answer. Even a tiniest bit of hint as to why she was dead... or even how.

How did I die?

That's another thought that bothers her.

She look around again at the place where she's at. And her focus came to this place where she was stucked.

There is no one in here. No houses, no road signs. Any signs of life, there is none.

This place looks haunted!!! She screams in her mind.

Her eyes became bewildered with anxiety and tiny droplets of sweat starts to drop from here forehead. Her fingers starts to shake as she feels the cold wind blowing.

Little by little her mind was filled with unnecessary image of men and women in white misty forms, gliding towards her. They were faceless with hallow circles for their eyes. Floating towards her...

without feet.

She shut her eyes with that thought.

Oh, noh! Oh noh! Oh noh! This can't be happening!!!

Suddenly, all the life and blood remaining on her was somewhat draining. She can feel the goosebumps slowly creeping up to her. All the hair on her skins are at attention. As if an ice was placed on her back that sends chills down her spine.

No, no, no, no, no! This can't be it. There are nothing like that here. I don't want to see one myself.

She is really feeling afraid now. It's as if any moment, one of those faceless, gliding thing will appear in front of her.

With her eyes closed still , vivid images came to her imagination. The one she fears the most...

"Oh, noh! Mommy, please help me! Please take me away from here!", she shouts.

"Help! Help, there is a ghost! There are ghosts around! Please somebody!", she shouted her lungs out while her whole body is trembling.

Ghost...

She felt that there are ghosts in here.

She tried to be brave and slowly opened her eyes then look from left to right. She tried to look straight to the trees and even behind her.

There must be some ghosts around here. I can feel it.

As if on cue, bristles of sound was heard from behind. A bustling of little leaves being crushed as if someone is walking towards her.

She stood frozen on the spot. On instinct, she puts one hand protectively over her body and another over her eyes.

She was waiting for the coldness that will warp around her. The icy feeling of a corps laying it's hand on her.

But it didn't come.

She waited for another minute and still it didn't come.

She felt relieved and then she blows out the air she didn't know she was keeping in all along. It was a long exhale.

"How long have you kept that in?" A new voice said from behind her.

Her eyes fluttered open and her heart beats like horses galloping on the Sahara. She leaps off the ground and lands 3 feet away from the owner of the voice.

She turns around and put all her effort not to be scared and looked into the being behind her.

Her eyes went wide and she became pale as she took in the appearance of the creature.

He looks like a silhouette of a man, wearing a trench coat with a fedora hat with piercing dark eyes, shining in the light and all she could she is black all over him.

Then, all of a sudden, like his lips didn't move, a smirk spreads over his face and a voice said,

"Hello, gorgeous!"
