Chapter 1: Enrollment Day

One morning, Harry was still sleeping soundly at his bed. It was the last week of summer, so he doesn’t want anyone disturbing. Suddenly, his phone rang. Rrrrrrrriiiiiiiing!!! Rrrrrrriiiiiiing!!! Harry covered his ears with a pillow. Rrrrrrrriiiiiiiing!!! Rrrrrrriiiiiiing!!! After the fourth ring, he went out of his bed and angrily shouted, “WHAT?!?”. “Harry, are you alright?” it was Hermione, one of Harry’s best friends.

“Do you think I’m alright?!?” Harry answered back stressed fully. Hermione was surprised with Harry’s response so she decided to end the call. So Harry went back to his bed, and tried to go back to sleep. He tossed and turned, but he just couldn’t go back to sleep. A few minutes later, he gave up and went out of his bed to eat breakfast.

At the dining room, his parents greeted him. “Good Morning honey. To whom were you speaking to a while ago? You seemed so mad about it.” his mom asked. Harry didn’t answer, for he was too mad about it. So he just poured a cereal in his bowl, and started eating. After having a good morning’s breakfast, he went to his room to take a bath.

When he was drying his hair, he checked the calendar by his mirror. “Oh, no. It can’t be.” he thought as he stared at the date. But it was. Yes-it was Enrollment Day. He had completely forgotten! This was an emergency of the highest order! “After all,” Harry thought. “I never ever ever ever forget or become late on Enrollment Day.”

            “I need to hurry up!” Harry exclaimed. So he dressed up as fast as he can, and hurriedly ran down the stairs. “Bye mom! Bye dad! “ Harry shouted while running towards the door. Harry forgot that he can just simply use his wand to teleport himself to Hermione and Ron’s house. But he was so in a hurry that he forgot all about it.

Meanwhile at Hermione’s house, she is talking to her best friend Ron Weasley. “I am so worried about Harry. I mean it’s not that he should be so mad especially on the day of our enrollment day.” Hermione said worriedly. Ron, on the other line, is just fooling around. “People change Hermione. Harry is not a little kid anymore. He also has emotions, and knows how to make decisions.”

At the same time, Harry was hurrying into going to Ron’s house. Just as Harry went inside Ron’s house, Ron was still talking to Hermione at the phone. “Great! Harry’s here. Now were ready to enroll together.” Ron exclaimed at the phone. At that very moment, Hermione teleported to Ron’s house.

So together, they went to the school where they’ll be enrolling. When they were already halfway the sidewalk, they brought out their wands and altogether said,”Wingardium Leviosa!” So they flew to the sky. A few minutes later, they saw a small piece of land with a building on top of it. It was SKY HIGH.

It was the school where they’ll be studying in High School. As they come inside, they were greeted by staffs with different powers. They didn’t have wands, but they have powers without using any wand or any magical object. While they were talking to each other, Harry noticed Draco Malfoy, his arch enemy, also enrolling at the same school as his friends. Come to think of it……why was Draco walking towards him and his friends with that crazy look in his eyes?

"I know! Draco’s got a plan. He will zap Hermione, so that no one will stand in his way in academics!" 

A chill ran down Harry’s spine as Draco came even closer while starting to shout a spell. 

"Hermione worked hard to study in this school. Then Draco would just zap her, so that he could be the smartest student? That’s cheating!" 

Harry couldn’t let this happened! But he felt like he was frozen to the ground. He couldn’t move---he couldn’t even speak as Draco got nearer. “Hey, what are you doing?” Ron asked, as Draco started to say a spell and prepared to point it to Hermione. “Crucio!” Draco shouted. Just then, Hermione looked up. When she saw what was happening, she screamed. The sound jolted Harry into action.

“Hermione look out!” Ron shouted. But it was too late. Draco had already finished saying the spell, and it was already headed right to Hermione. “No-o-o-o-o!” Harry cried, jumping in front of the approaching spell that was headed straight toward Hermione. Harry was the one hit by Draco’s spell, and he crumpled to the floor looking like a guy who was shocked by thunder.

He lay there for a moment, flat on his back, staring up at his friends. He glanced around the room. Everyone was gaping at him. Draco gave him a special glare, but Harry ignored him. He even smiled a little. After all, Hermione was safe and sound----there wasn’t a single bruise on her anywhere at her body. Draco’s plan had failed. “Are you okay?” Hermione asked, staring down at her friend. “I cannot believe you did that, bloody hell.” Ron said.

"I can’t believe it either. But Hermione would jump on a grenade spell for me. Beside, that’s what friends are for." 

“Well, yeah. I’m okay. But that hurts a lot.” Harry said slowly. Hermione smiled back at Harry. ”Anyway, thanks for doing that for me.”

"Like what Ron says, I’d rather be a good person than being careful not to be humiliated in front of others. Besides I have my 2 best friends. There’s nothing to be afraid of."

Did I just say that out loud?” Harry said at last. “Hahahahahahaha! You’re so funny Harry. And Ron, did you really say that?” Hermione said while laughing. Ron didn’t answer right away.

TEN SECONDS LATER…

“Well…..” Ron began. “Not exactly like that.” At that moment, nobody talked, as Harry and Hermione stared at Ron. “WHAT?!? Did I say anything wrong?” Ron said once again. “Hahahahaha!” Harry and Hermione said in chorus. “We were just making a fool out of you” Hermione said laughing. “You guys are the best friends anyone could ever have!” Harry said as they continue to the registration counter to enroll.
