"Good night, Evan," I said, tucking my 6 year old in bed.
"It's too bad that Connor can't stay with us anymore. He was really good at playing doctor,"Evan said.
"Well, he's back home where he can be with his mom," I explained.
"If something happened to you I would sad," Evan said.
"I would be too," I said. "But it's not going to. I'll make sure of that."
"Daddy will protect you too." Evan assured.
"Definitely. Daddy will protect this family with his life," I agreed.
