Leaning against the walls of the school, with a cigarette in my mouth. Surrounded by the smell of torturing smoke and many underachievers. My tie undone, shirt untucked, buttons not completely buttoned and my hair messy as always. Skipping class again, as usual but today I got busted again and was forced to go to class. Listening to the teacher's words that always went through me and sitting in a seat with a variety of students. The ones that put the effort, the ones that tried to fit in, the ones that caused trouble and the ones who just didn't try. I guess I was in the latter, I would only cause trouble if the teacher kept picking on me.

Anyway, today was sort of different due to the fact we had a new student. That student would take a seat and the teacher would figure out what kind of student he or she was. My seat was near the window, it was second period, english class and the window was the only thing that made me go through the class. Seeing the weather, field, basketball courts, were better than staring at the teacher's boring face. The teacher had introduced the new student, a female and that is all I remember. As for her name, background, likes and dislikes I didn't care about them. I found it strange that she had transferred after five months of school had already past. She might have even said her reason why but it didn't really bother me. I stared out at the window, outside where I wished to be. The lesson for the day, I had no idea what it was, I didn't pay attention and I guess that is why the teacher picked on me to read the passage.
"Read," the teacher said, "Continue from where we left off."
"I don't know where we left off, I wasn't paying attention as I am not interested," I replied.
"Read this or go to the office!" the teacher said.

I got off my seat and walked towards the door.
"What are you doing?" the teacher asked.
"I chose the office. See you teach," I said, and exited the door.

I walked the halls and just exited the school, I decided to go to the place where I felt most at ease. There was a place around the school, a barbed fence, beyond it was what I thought a wonderful sight. There was a vast amount of trees brimming with leaves of all shades of green. Some splashes of pink were there from the cherry blossoms. It really was beautiful. However, along with that view was the school's garbage bins and from time to time a truck would come by to drain them out. It was awful how they had to put it in the same place the view of trees were. It didn't belong there but then again, maybe I didn't either. Someone as low as me had no right to see this scenery. So, the fact the garbage bins were there made me feel like I had a place here.

If I wasn't sitting at my spot I would usually hang out with a group of guys somewhere else. More underachievers that I saw either after school or when I skipped classes but lunch time was just my time. Even though it was a bit early to lunch I thought about going there anyway. There was an overcast today and it was humid. I stared at the sight, it was something that I only appreciated. Many people knew this was my spot and they would say 'he keeps staring at that, what's so good about it?' Or something like 'it's so boring' but those idiots just couldn't look past it and see the real beauty. I took out another cigarette and then lunch came around and shortly after, class. I got out of my spot and went under some shade as it had started to rain. It was so hot and terrible. Then a girl came towards me, with a lunch box over her head to protect herself from the rain.
"Um...I'm sorry but do you have math class?" she asked.

Unfortunately my schedule was engraved in my head and I did remember that I had math next. So I nodded.
"Oh, well would you be so kind to show it to me? I'm new here," she said.

I was about to tell her to look for someone else to assist her but the only good thing about math class was it had air conditioning. It was raining anyway, so I decided that it would better to be in math class. I threw my cigarette and beckoned her to follow me.
"Thank you so much...um, what is your name?" she asked.
"Doesn't matter, we won't be talking much anyway," I replied.
"Well actually I do know your name but I just wanted to ask to be sure," she said, "You're in my english class as well. I am the new student, Mira Sheely. Nice to meet you," she said.
