Lilly's POV

A muffled boom shook my cell, making small chunks of concrete chip off and fly away whilst dust sprinkled down on me and clouded the room, dampened sounds of fighting started ...

The pace of my heart picked up and fear coursed through my body.

I shuffled closer to the corner and tried to squeeze myself in as far as I could go as if to sink into the wall itself. I curled up into the foetal position and covered my head silently praying for it all to be over. Abruptly the sounds stopped signalling the fight was over with a chorus of howls. Now all I could do was wait for him. Light started to seep into my cell from the crack at the bottom of the door, casting an eerie light across the room. My heart seemed to be trying to escape my chest as I heard the chilling sound of footsteps on concrete.

No, no, no, no... I chanted in my head.

They were getting closer and closer.

Until they stopped. Right outside my cell...

The clicking of locks cut through the room making my blood rush in my ears. The creaking sound of the heavy metal door filled the room...
