Chapter three- Darkness

Lilly’s POV

The door creaked open flooding painful light into my cell. It managed to worm its way through my knees and hands and reaching my eyes I held in a cry of pain and squeezed my eyes shut. I would not give them the satisfaction of showing them my pain… At least not yet. I sniffed the air to find out who it was this time, but all I could smell was my own blood and grime dripping from after his last. Visit.

After not hearing anything after several minutes I cautiously looked up to a huge man towering in the doorway eyeing me with curiosity. Maybe he’s a new pack member who joined this pack after his old pack was lost in the battle that happened a few minutes ago and this is his test of ‘strength’ as he calls it. Realising I had been staring I snapped my gaze back to the floor and started to tremble softly in anticipation of my punishment.

But it never came, instead the strange man stepped into my cell casting shadows and instead said “Can you walk?” What? Why? Has he come to kill me? Will he make it quick? These thoughts flew around my head like wasps stinging me with fear. I hesitantly nodded, I can at least try. Slowly keeping our eyes on each other I pushed myself up using the wall for support, in the end I had myself in a strange hunchback position clinging to the walls for dear life, this was the best I could achieve.

Sluggishly I placed one foot in front of the other, my already shaking legs gave way underneath me making me collapse in a heap. “I’m sorry please don’t kill me” I begged through the pain. My vision started to blur at the edges as two bare feet started to walk towards me, they stopped in front of me and their owner did the last thing I expected. He crouched down and gently lifted my chin so I was looking at him. He said slowly and with purpose “I will never hurt you, you are safe now, just relax.”

I felt hands slip underneath me and start to lift me up when my vision started to dim, I believe you… and then everything went black.
