Prompt: Joe, Zoë and Alfie have come to South Africa for a quick holiday break. There Joe meets Caspar, his diving instructor and his potential boyfriend. 😏😏
Joe loves the beach !! He loves the way the blazing hot sun blooms his skin tone and makes it a shade darker than before, he loves the feeling of lying down and reading a good book while watching the little children build sandcastles.
What he does not love is third wheeling.
Joe has come to the beaches of South Africa with Zoë and Alfie, and as much as he loves the both of them, he hates it when he is present when the two are so lovesick that they almost forget that he is there. The entire trip the two have been together walking hand in hand and occasionally chatting with Joe. Joe and Zoë's mother did not allow Zoë to go with Alfie alone. The two desperately wanted to go to South Africa and so Joe decided to step up and accompany Zalfie. The duo could not thank him enough.
Right now Zoë is laughing her ass off as Alfie's splashes water on her. Joe has to admit that they both look super cute when they are together but then the harsh reality then hits him, he will forever stay single. Joe knows that finding his lover would be difficult for him because firstly he is gay and secondly he is very picky about people.
Joe fixes his sunglasses and continues reading his book when a loud obnoxious sound followed by sweet innocent child like laughter reaches his ears and irritates them. When he realises that these sound aren't going to stop, he places his book in his bag and twirls the white sand in the ground with his fingers.
Just then Zoë and Alfie arrive to take some rest from their own play world. "How was the water ?" Joe asks innocently ignoring the continuous laughter. Zoë claps her hands "Oh it was amazing, the beaches here are so clean and tidy". Joe nodded in response.
Joe looks ahead at the setting orange sun while Alfie and Zoë dry themselves with a towel. Joe wanted Zoë and Alfie to have the most time with each other and so decides to have a quick walk on the beach. Zoë gives him a sympathetic smile "Like I said before Alfie, don't try doing some pranks behind my back". Alfie winked at Joe which caused Joe to chuckle in response.
He ran towards the waves of the ocean and let the sparkling cold water splash on his comparatively warm feet. Joe could not walk any more further. Why you all may ask ? Well, it is simply because Joe cannot swim. Whenever Joe thinks of swimming weird thoughts such as drowning or anything disastrous pops up in his mind. He mentally slaps himself for thinking so but then these thoughts just don't go out of his head.
Joe closes his eyes to calm himself by the sound of the soft wind which brushes his face but the same old loud laughter rings in his ears. Peace is indeed something hard to find in this world. Joe opens his eyes and turns around to see two kids and an adult building sandcastles.
Joe almost gasps when he sees the boy with the two kids. Joe wishes but just cannot stop staring at him. Dirty blonde hair sticking out of his head, brightest blue eyes with a bit of red (due to the Suns reflection), wrinkles formed at the end of his mouth from where the uncontrollable laughter was escaping from. He looked like a pineapple but Everything about him was just perfect.
The boy was sitting down on the ground while the two kids were standing up because of their small height. Joe could not understand why they were laughing for such a long time but the laughter did not stop. And the laughter which once seemed Loud and obnoxious to Joe once sounded more pleasant and appealing.
Joe isn't exactly the shyest person in the world, infact he is known among his friend as the one who has the most courage. He found himself walking towards the trio and greeting them. The three stopped laughing for a moment when they noticed Joe walking towards them but one of the two kids elbowed the blonde while the other giggled.
