Mike couldn't stop thinking about Ashley.Even when he got to bed, he had flashes of her.
"I don't know why I like her so much. Maybe this is what people call love at first sight.I have to express my feelings to her and for that,tomorrow doesn't seem a very bad day."He smiled.
The next day,when the classes were over, Mike requested Ashley to come with him for a minute.Although she wasn't quite sure, she gave a nod due to his continuous implore. Mike led her to an isolated corner in the college premises.
"I'm getting late.What do you want?Please be quick." Ashley hurried.
"Um.. you are Ashley, right?"
When she nodded,Mike continued.
"I don't know how to say this. Actually I..I like you Ashley.Will you go out with me?"
The worse Mike expected was a NO. But the situation turned out to be something which was least imagined by him.
Ashley literally broke down to uncontrollable tears.Mike didn't know how to react. She cried for minutes and then ran as fast as she could without speaking a word to Mike.
Mike sat there for long.He didn't understand why Ashley took such a step.The sun bid goodbye and started setting and the birds waved each other goodbye but Mike sat there,even longer as he hadn't been this disappointed in his life before.
