Summary:

Not only does Harry have to worry about Horcruxes, the safety of his friends, and, of course, Voldemort, but now he has an added worry, a sister. Ariel Evans is his very rambunctious, very brave, very beautiful twin sister from the States. Harry learns about love of different kinds; from like to love and lust; infacturation and obsession, and the complete opposite, hate. Not to mention who's really friend, or foe. Written before DH.

Chapter 1: Birth Date Surprise

[View Online] [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Dear Harry,

Due to these terrible times, please excuse the vagueness of my letter. First, I want to say thank you for allowing me to live in your home, but I will not take full ownership as you suggested in your letter. It was your Godfather's last wish that you have a home of your own. A home that you can live in now that you will soon be leaving the Muggles for good.

We will be collecting you on the morning of your birthday. Please have everything packed and ready, for I'm sure they will want us out as soon as possible.

Take care till then.

Sincerely,

Remus

P.S. I have a bit of a birthday surprise for you. Although I fear your reaction may be the same as the surprise's, it is quite wonderful. I do believe, in time, you will be pleased.

The emerald eyes of Harry Potter re-read the letter over again, and again. We? he thought, maybe the same lot that came after the Dementor attack that summer. Yeah, more than likely that's who. But, birthday surprise? he continued to ponder. What better gift is there than to leave the Dursleys forever?

But Harry could think of several other things that would be a better gift: that the last three years had been only a bad dream; that Voldemort had never returned, that Cedric Diggory never touched the cup; that Sirius was, at least, mopping around Grimmauld Place; that Dumbledore was not in a white tomb on the Hogwarts' grounds.

Harry put down the letter, and continued to fumble with the locket he and Dumbledore retrieved in that horrible cave. He rarely let a day go by without holding it, staring at it, even sometimes falling asleep with it still clutched in his hand. It symbolized a very long journey he saw ahead of him. A journey without Hogwarts, without Dumbledore, without a clue as to how to go about it, but he knew he had to. He also knew he'd have his two best friends by his side, although he secretly wished, for their safety, they'd returned to school instead.
