I don't recognize myself anymore

The dream ends and I open my eyes, I'm in Houston, a couple of blocks from where I have to go. Dante smiles at me and I remember what I said I'd do.

"Dante, does it make you evil," He listens intently and I take a deep breath. "If you kill someone who was a father to you?" He shakes his head looking sad.

"It is not if you were forced to or if it is the best thing for everyone," I consider killing Dad/Uncle James as the best thing for everyone. "For example, I was forced to drink my father's blood after I became a vampire...I was thankful it was not my mother's blood I was drinking," He looks sad and I touch his shoulder as someone runs into the building wearing a long blue coat not suited for Texas. "Bec, how did you get away?" The person pulls his hood down and Dante looks disgustedly at his double. "They are trying to trick you, do not trust whatever he says." The other Dante looks at me.

"You were scared that you would hurt Damien if you sat near him," I remember that conversation and I know it's the real one. I shoot the fake one who looks kinda like my ex when I shoot him. "Good to know that you know who to trust...A shapeshifter again, really?" He shakes his head at the corpse and something weird happens, everything goes quiet, no birds or any other animals. I look around and see a man wearing a cloak. Dante pales when he sees the man. "Hello, Time, it has been a long...time." The man laughs and it sounds like a mixture of a baby, man and old man laughing.

"Dante Romano, how is humanity?" Dante smiles like he's thinking about something or someone. "Oh, yes. Alessandra's descendant has been...keeping you warm in bed," What does that...Oh. "Winter, I am here to warn you about Angel," Why warn me about Angel? "She will not believe and you will lose two things. That is all you can know." Time disappears and I can hear animals. I look at Dante.

"Who the fuck was that guy?" He looks at me, hesitating. "Vampire? Shapeshifter? What?" He scratches his head and checks the time.

"As we run so nobody dies like in Virginia," Jade's sister...Ruby? "I will explain the best I can," We start jogging which is running to normal people. "Time is well time. Every human meets him twice in their life, when they are born and when they die but if you are or have been a vampire, you meet occasionally. I met him when I became a vampire, he said not to run from the girl chasing me, at the time I did not know what he meant until someone was chasing me at the dead of night. I stopped and turned, it was Alessandra. She cried when she saw me, I had just drank a pig's blood so I was very bloody. She hid me in her basement while she found Maria and brought her there as well...Time gave me hope that not all humans would despise me like my father had when Maria and I came back to him. You will meet Time again especially if my vision is correct." Before I can ask what that meant, people run out in front of us and  they bare their fangs. I step in front of Dante, baring my own fangs and they blink in surprise. One of them walks forward and my heart stops.

"Fai?" He runs forward and we hug. I'm really shocked by the hug but I'm too happy to care. "How did you get away?" He's shaking and I know nobody is pretending to be him. We stop hugging

"Your dad, no your uncle, zhè shì lìng rén kùnhuò," I don't speak Chinese but I don't really care. "Your uncle pretending to be your dad, let me go to lead you to the new location," He smiles at me and I'm slightly shocked by the smile. "I thought you died but it's slightly worse but it doesn't change who you are." Tell that to Angel. The other vampires step aside and we walk through them. We walk past City Hall and I have a really bad feeling. Another group of vampires appear and I recognize all of them as our bullies and exes. I bare my fangs before they do and one of them laughs. Cary tosses her dyed white hair over her shoulder.

"Two vampires and a normal human against us?" They laugh and I can't wait until that 'normal' human hands them their asses. "How's Damien? Still missing me?" I tap my chin mockingly.

"I don't know," I look at Fai. "Did he seem to miss her when we kissed earlier?" Fai shrugs. Cary's face pales. "I don't think he missed you since the night the vampires took over," I bare my fangs again and hiss. "Come get me, bitch," She runs at me and I don't move until she's in front of me. My hand shoots forward and goes into her chest. I pull out her heart and she falls to her knees, I kneel in front of her. "This is for Damien," I rip her heart in half as she dies and I drop her heart on the ground. The other vampires run away and I turn to the others as the shock of what I just did hits. "I tore her heart out and ripped it in half. I'm a monster." I stare at my bloody hands and I can't breathe. Fai grabs my arm.

"You aren't a monster because if you are, then so am I," You haven't ripped your friend's ex's heart out and tore it in half. "I think Damien will hug and kiss you if you tell him. I think even Angel would," I don't think even if I become human again, she'll ever hug me again. "Like she does with London Bridge," I frown. "John Xavier, blond, british vampire." She likes him and he hasn't been human for who knows how long, I've been a vampire for a couple of days and I'm dead to her, hypocrite. Someone's behind me. I turn around as a vampire touches my forehead and all I see is darkness.
