[point of view of Joshua]
I woke around 10 am to a rainy sky. I barely slept last night, I haven't been taking my medicine lately. The rain didn't make it much better. I threw pants and shoes on and made my way downtown to a coffee shop I saw online when I booked my room. It was a cute, local cafe. As I made my way in, I took a look around. It was held the usual hipster style; fairy lights, antiques as decorations, etc. Not where I fit in but hey, traveling is about trying new things. When I looked to my right I saw Amirem. Sitting there, in the most beautiful formation: her. I honestly have to say, the moment I met her, I developed a huge crush on her.
I walked toward her, she was looking down as if she was reading something on her lap. I walked over to her and tried to act cool.
"Hello, Amirem." I said with a smile. She looked up at me and her voice made me feel at home.
"Oh, hey Josh!" She said back, showing her perfect teeth as she smiled. I had knots in my stomach. I asked if I could sit with her and she gave me the permission to. We talked for a moment until the waiter came with Amirem's coffee. He gave her a look and asked who I was.
"This is Josh, my friend." She said, slightly laughing. He gave her this look, she just rolled her eyes. How cute, I thought. I noticed she brought a book with her, Edgar Allan Poe. I sparked a conversation about it.
"You like Poe too?" I questioned. She looked at her book.
"Oh, yes. I love his material." She said. We sat and talked for a moment about some of his work. She told me that 'The Fall of the House of Usher' was her favorite. I smiled and told her I was mutual about it. We talked longer about other literature and even music. I loved talking someone new; someone who knew so much about art and music. She's everything I've ever asked for.
However, this changed when I realized I was very late for my meeting with an old friend. I stood up quickly and apologized about my interruption. I stood up and almost walked out unil she called after me. I turned, she looked at me for a moment and didn't say anything. I almost asked what she saw until she asked for my number. I hastily wrote it down on a napkin and handed it her. I could have done back flips then and there.
"I'll call you later," She said. I couldn't wait to see her again, and I told her that. I made my way to my meeting, careful not to show my big smile until I was out of the store.
