the next day lilla woke to the soft sound of her phone vibrating some where on her bed.
she searched for it slowly unlocking it to see he had a text from a number that she had never seen before " I think ur cute."

Lila could not remember the last time she heard that said to her. kindergarten, maybe. she quickly replied asking who it was then locked her phone and got out of bed. she made her way out of her room and into the hallway where she heard the loud snores of her father and the video game her brother was playing. she tiptoed down the stairs as to not wake anyone.

lilla liked to be quiet, to go unnoticed as she always has. at first it was sad and lonely but she learned to enjoy it. she saw things no one else saw, like the boy picking his nose on the trolley or the woman speaking soft words to herself or even the man who could steal the entire contents of your purse and you wouldn't notice. going unnoticed had its major perks like not having to pay for your coffee or not having to stand in a hour long line. her parents hardly seemed to notice her anymore either and she was okay with that. lilla got away with alot, one time she didn't come home for three weeks and her mom just asked if she could check the laundry when she got back.

and you could say she was quite lonely, and she was, but that was what she was used to.
