(Maddi)

I stand infront of the door, scared about what could be inside. Are they still in there? Are they alive? If they aren't then what do I do?

After about 15 minutes of that, I decide it's probably best just to brave it and go inside. Anyway, although it hasn't got here yet, according to Emma, I haven't got long.

I unlock the door and creep inside. "Mum? You there?" No answer. I walk in a bit further and go into the living room. "Mum?"

I look around. There's no sign of her anywhere.

'meeeoooow'

Holly rolls on the floor and starts purring. I bend down and stroke her fluffy stomach. "You seen Mum anywhere?" She stares at me, almost like she can tell what I'm saying, her massive eyes seem sad, like they always do. "I guess not then," I sigh before standing up and brushing myself off.

She sits up and stares at me. I go into the kitchen and realise her issue, there's no food in her bowl. I fill it up as well as her water before running upstairs.

I peer out of the window and over to Rowan's house, trying to see if she, or anyone else is there. Just as I'm about to turn away, I see someone move in her room.

Me: Hey, u in? I'm here and I'm on my own.

SENDING...

ERROR! No signal

Oh shit! The phone lines must be down. I'll have to go round there and hope there's someone home.

So... apparently it's gonna be here soon. They said on the weather forecast this morning that the mist holding it is spreading over to this part of the country and should be here by this afternoon.

I run upstairs and switch on my computer. While it's turning on, I turn on my tablet and log onto YouTube. I scroll through my subscriptions. There's uploads from Pewdie, Toby, Troye Sivan... but NO JORDAN!! Frickin' hell!!! I could die this afternoon and he hasn't even uploaded a video!! Well... fml.

I close the app again and turn my attention to the computer. Hmm... What shall we check first?

Just as I'm about to open up Wattpad, I hear someone knock on the door. I guess I should go and see who it is...

I run down the stairs and open the door. Maddi's stood there. I thought she was meant to be with her mum. Oh... what if... no, surely not.

"Hey! How are ya doin'?"

"I'm ok, except I'm on my own. I just found out." So I guessed right about why she's here. Oh my god.

"Oh... I'm sorry..."

"It's ok. How are you anyway?" She tries to change the subject. Understandably.

"We're ok... I think." It's just occured to me that I haven't seen any of my family members since they went out two hours ago.

Rowan suddenly runs inside the house and leaves me standing in the doorway.

"Bye then," I shout sarcastically down the hallway. She ignores me and runs up the stairs. Well I'll just follow her then I suppose... lol.

Before I even close the door, she's coming down the stairs again staring at her phone and tapping away rapidly at the keys.

"There's no point," I say, knowing she's probably too distracted to actually hear me. "The phone lines are down. I tried to text you earlier and it wouldn't let me."

"Well that's shit!" She looks up from the screen and stares at me.

"I know right! Who were you trying to text anyways?"

"Mum. They all went out about two hours ago and obviously I haven't heard from them since."

"They'll be back soon. It'll be fine!" At least I can try to cheer her up, right?

"Yeah, I suppose..."
