I woke up in a dream. It was dark, so I assumed it was night in this one, like most of my dreams lately. I could tell it was a dream, as it felt more realistic than reality.
Suddenly, my TV in my room, which was where I was, turned on. Then, a red, needle-like finger encroached on my Sega Dreamcast and turned it on. The old system that was only a couple of years older than I was made a soft, shrill beeping sound. The orange power light turned on, and the Dreamcast began to whirr with the sounds of grinding lasers. The TV, which had previously had a "no signal" message, now turned white, and gave off a nostalgic sound, like icy wind, as a scarlet-colored dot bounced across the bottom of the screen. With each bounce, a letter sprung up, eventually spelling out "Dreamcast", as the dot entered the center of the screen, and drew an orange swirl for the system logo. The startup screen faded into the blue ripples of the home screen, and four icons appeared. A Dreamcast controller, a Visual Memory Unit, or VMU, an eighth note, and a stopwatch. Under each was a caption: Play, Data, Music, and Settings. The "Play" option was ready to be selected, as the controller was bouncing from side to side. A pair of red hands gasped the player one controller, and pressed "A", causing the screen to fade into white again, this time showing the Sega logo, which then snapped into black. The Dreamcast, itself, began to glow orange, as the logo on the top lifted off the bulky, plastic system, and stood upright. The hands led into a red body, with a similar shape to my own. The creature stood before the floating logo, and the spiral pulled its center back, drawing the creature in, and slingshotting it through the ceiling, and breaking the sky barriers, allowing it to escape the dream, and enter the dreams of others.
All I heard after the TV and the Dreamcast turned off, was the creature's voice:
"Soon, you will understand, Mysterystar, but not soon enough. I will tell you where I am when I want to, and not before, or after."
I was scared. The people who were in my dreams as of late were my favorite YouTubers. That was probably where the creature was going, but I couldn't be too sure. It could be going after my friends. It could be going after Ellawyn, Ian, Noah, James, or my boyfriend, Connor, but they knew what to do if that ever were to happen. The Fryes would be an easier target, even though I had left urgent comments on their videos saying that it could be a possibility, but I didn't think they would see them, and everyone who replied said I was nuts. The truth is, I am nuts. Banana nuts. I am completely insane in the membrane, but that doesn't mean I'm not right.
