Mary Ford, the most popular, coolest, and prettiest girl in school. She was single for that matter. I sighed gazing at her beautiful features. Her eyes were as big as olives, long brown hair rigged up in a ponytail, and her freckles dotted along her nose and cheeks. They were all perfect, I'm way out of her league. I know she must have a crush on Mack Ray. But if she at least got to know me, she would like me. Maybe even if I'm lucky I might be her guy friend. No, I can't... I don't have the courage, if only there was a way to get close to her I wou-
"Hey Mary, are you still volunteering for the special needs program?"
"Yea, I want to help out."
"Whatever, did you hear Sam has finally asked Beth?" Mary and her friend faded away into the halls. I sighed, her friends were bratty spoiled girls who would probably use some girl for their own game. Suddenly an idea popped into my head. I could get close to her by volunteering too! I smiled as I walked to Rocket Science. This idea could work.

"Grow up Mary, Dave is so not cute!" Norma rolled her eyes taking a bite out of her candy bar."Look, Norma you've got your differences and I've got mine." I said to the red head. She just glared at Dave. The reason she didn't like him was because last fall, he had dumped Suzy, Norma's closest friend."Mary he's going to dump you! Like all the girls he's dated."
I laughed at her."Please, maybe he'll like me. I mean I would have to bond with him but I'm pretty sure he is going to like me."
The bell rings ending our conversation. I sit back and look straight at the teacher.

Norma and I walked through the cafeteria looking for our group. Apparently were "popular" but I don't believe that were cool, just, you know. Ordinary kids. We talk, eat, sleep. We're not special, just because we're pretty doesn't mean we're popular, cool, or liked in the school. We have friends.
