Ben
I strolled in the room, I tried to look cool even though I'm not. There she was, Mary Ford. She was talking to one of the helpers. I decided to eavesdrop on there conversation, just a heads up, I'm certainly not a stalker.
"So, Mary since you have had experience. I'll sign you to Fin, he's kinda of cranky on Thursday so be prepared."
Experience? Since when did we need that?
"Ah! You must here to sign up, what's your name?" The helper walked over with me, she had a gentle smile and soft eyes."I'm Ben, Ben Woods." I answered. She looked at her checkboard. Then looked back with a puzzled face."It says you didn't join last year? What made you want to join this year?"
I can't tell her that I'm using this to get to Mary.
"Oh you know, I wanted to help out people and make a change in the world." I answered casually. Maybe a little too casual."Oh well let's get you started then."
She lead me to a room with a huge chart. On the chart were people."You'll be dealing with someone in a wheelchair, her name is Roxy." She advised."You'll be walking her to her classroom and back. Don't worry, she's in all your classes." She added, the chart with the name "ROXY." she had green eyes, had brown ponytail, and had a toothy grin."Anyway, you'll start tomorrow, bye Ben Woods." I nodded at her and left. Maybe this was going to be easy, I mean I'm walking a girl in a wheelchair, what could be so hard?I entered the school, my bag digging into my shoulder. I looked all around for her till I found she was sitting right next to my locker, I walked up to her."Hey."
"Sup."
"Are you Roxy?"
"Yea."
"Ok."
After the meaningful conversation I strolled her to our classroom. On the way I tried another conversation."So is this your first year?"
"Yea."
"Do you like it?"
"Nope, because I have dorks like you having an awkward conversation with me."
I stared at her."Excuse me?"
"You heard me, You. Are. A. Dork."
I just sighed at her, was I really handling her? "Why are you here? Hmm, you want to make fun of special needs kids? Well I'm nothing compared to the others. I'm normal in the special needs, you should be happy, that I'm not throwing a tantrum." She retorted. It hit me like a stone brick. She was throwing a tantrum, but not a bad one. She was angry about something."Who ripped your teddy bear?" I asked her, she replied with a grumble."I'm just mad, I am not a special needs kid, I'm just in a wheelchair. I'm normal." I nodded."Were here."
"Good, bye Felicia."
She hissed at me and slowly pushed her herself in the classroom like a snail. I sighed. All this, for a girl?
