Jonathan's ~ Delirious' ~ Perspective
I poke my head out of the supply crate I'm hiding in. "We're clear!" I whisper/yell to my buddy, Arlan, as I quietly creep out of my hiding spot. I hear Arlan's crate slowly creak open, his head poking out of the container. He steps out of the box with caution, knowing full well that if we're too loud we'll get caught.
"Why couldn't we have just snuck out after the military left? If they catch us here we'll get hung!" Arlan mutters with his arms crossed. "Because! What's the fun in that? You have to take risks, Droidd, or you aren't going to live a happy life! You need to live your life for the fun, not the amount of years you live!" I answer him. He stands there in thought before shaking himself out of his thoughts when the carriage we're in stops.
"Alright men! It's break time! The Earth Kingdom is only a few more miles north from here! Get ready to fight because this is the last pitstop we're making!" A general explains to his troops from outside of our hiding place. "This is our stop, Arlan! Once I say it's safe, we're going to book it into the woods!" I tell him with adrenaline pumping throughout my whole body.
Yes! We're finally free from the Water Elementals! We're free from all the Elementals! Once we make it into the forest, we're off to the abandoned island! There, we can live our own lives instead of the ones the Kingdoms expect of us! No more war! No more politics! No more fear! We're free!
I peek outside of our carriage and smile when I notice no one is paying attention. I wave Arlan to come over so we can leave as I prep for the run. I lift of my hand and hold up three fingers, bringing one down as I say the countdown in my head. 3...2...1! Droidd and I cautiously jump out of the carriage and run for the trees. We make it into the woods with ease.
I turn around to see that no one is there and once I make sure we're out of ear-shot, I begin to laugh my famous laugh. "We did it, Arlan!" I squeal with happiness. "Y-Yeah... Yeah! We did! We did make it! Holy shit!" Droidd laughs, obviously as happy as I am. We both jump around and play in the trees as we yell and shout excitedly. "Woohoo!!! Fuck yeah!" I exclaim as I throw a big pile of leaves in the air.
Once Droidd and I are done playing around, we begin to walk like normal people. As we walk, I smile at the thought of what we're actually doing. Our dreams are coming true! We finally get to live our own lives, but there's still something missing. I feel selfish for thinking this, but I want something more. I want someone to share my freedom with. Of course, I have Arlan, but I still feel kinda empty. Lonely. Incomplete.
Why do I feel this way? I should be happy! My dreams of being free are coming true! I want someone more than just Droidd! I want someone to love... Is that it? Am I looking for love? Couldn't I have found it in the Water Kingdom and brought her with us? The Water Kingdom women don't interest me though. None of them spark my interests. None of the men do either. Maybe, I need someone a little hotter to run my life. Maybe someone from the-
"Ahh!!!" Arlan's scream mixed with another scream interrupts my thoughts. I jump in surprise and look down at my friend. He and another man has managed to bump into each other. "Droidd!" "Mini!" My voice as well as someone else's exclaim with worry. I bend down to help up my friend and notice someone bending down to help the other man up.
I stare at the two unfamiliar men and notice something about their clothes. Dirty, worn-out brown shirts with green hems... Torn and baggy green pants with brown hems... These guys are from the Earth Kingdom! I stare at them in fear, expecting them to attack since our Kingdoms are at war, but nether of them move.
I relax a little when I realize they don't plan on hurting us. "H-Hello." I stutter as I try to make a welcoming smile. "Hi." The man that bumped into Arlan greets with his hand extended. "I-I'm Craig, and this is B-Brock." He states as we shake hands. "I'm Jonathan, and this is Arlan." I introduce us wearily.
"Why aren't you two at your Kingdom?" Brock questions us. Arlan and I exchange looks. "We're going to the abandoned island so we can escape all of this war." Arlan speaks up truthfully. Craig and Brock's eyes both light up. "So are we!" They say in unison. What? We aren't the only ones trying to escape the war? Strange. I wonder how many other people plan on going to the abandoned island to escape this cluster fuck?
"Why don't we all go together? The more the merrier, right?" I ask involuntarily. "Sure! I've always wanted to know what I'd be like to hang around with an Elemental other than my own!" Craig squeals happily. We all laugh at his litter outburst and continue to make our way to the beaches so we can head over to the island.
As we're walking, I take a good long look at Our new friends, Craig and Brock. I stare at Brock and think. Hm... Could he be able to make me feel full? When looking at him, I don't really feel anything. Nah, it couldn't be him. I switch my attention over to Craig. Closer... I feel something, but I wouldn't exactly call it anything big. I look at him and I kinda feel a brotherly love instead of a loving bond. I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer to find that one person.Done! Next! Did you like it? I hope so!
