*Niall’s Point of View*

I was so happy to be home. Everyone else seemed happy to see me too. The lads and I were off for two weeks which was great because I get to come home. My dad looked a little anxious. I shrugged it off and sat down on the couch.

“Niall, can I talk to you about something,” I heard my dad ask.

“Sure dad, what’s up,” I asked.

“Well, I made this promise with my old best friend I’ve known since I was seven, that one of his kids would get married to one of mine.”

I looked at him confused. I didn’t quite get where he was going with this.

“Ok, what does this have to do with me?”

“Niall, you are the one getting married to one of my best friend’s daughter.”

“Why can’t it be Greg? Why me,” I asked.

“Greg is too old for her, they’re five years apart and you are just a year older than her. So her dad and I have it already set up.”

“Why I’m I just finding out about this now, and what if I don’t like her?”

“I didn’t know how to tell you. She just found out too. I’m sure you’d like her and all…”

“What if she only wants me for my cash or fame?”

“Niall, her parents are very wealthy people as well. They have a lot of cash.”

“Great, is she going to be stuck up just because she has money?”

“Actually no, she doesn’t care about their money. She’s very down to earth. You two use to be friends and you both use to play with each other when you were seven.”

“That doesn’t help dad, I don’t even know her…”

“We are flying out to America next week to have dinner with them and stay for two nights.”

“Dad, I’m supposed to be spending time with you and then with mom as a family. Not meeting this family and this girl I don’t even want to marry. Please tell me you haven’t planned the wedding.”

“Sadly we have. We’ve been planning it since we found out you two were going to get married when you were four. Though she has to turn 18 first before you two can get married and that won’t be until seven months from now.”

“Thanks dad for telling me I’m getting married to a complete stranger. I never thought this would happen. I was supposed to wait for my princess not have my parents choose her for me!”

“Niall this isn’t so bad. Just wait until you meet her. You’ll love her, I promise.”

“I sure hope I do…” I said not looking at my dad.

*A week later*

*Amy’s Point of View*

I took a bite off my apple as I waited for Jake. It’s been a week since my parents told me they were making me marry some guy I didn’t know. I was supposed to meet him tonight over dinner.  At least I was going to lunch with Jake before that horrible arrival. I heard the doorbell. Before I can get to the door I heard a cough from behind me.

“Remember be home before three, you need to get ready for dinner,” my mom said.

“Yeah, whatever, I’ll be back. Bye mom,” I said opening the door and walking out.

“Hey babe,” he said kissing me.

“Hey,” I said twisting the ring on my finger nervously. I still hadn’t told him about the marriage.

“Something wrong,” he asked.

“No, I’m ok.”

“Ok, so where do you want to go for lunch?”

“Just out, but I have to be back before three. I’m having dinner with my family.”

“Oh ok, so how about we go to that burger joint you love so much.”

“Sounds good to me,” I said quickly pecking his lips.

He took my hands in his and started walking to his car. He opened the car door for me. I got in and he ran to the driver’s seat.

“How’s everything with your family and all,” he asked.

“Good,” I said.

“Aims, are you alright?”

“I’m fine ok, stop asking,” I said.

“I was just asking, I’m worried about you,” Jake said.

“I’m sorry ok. Everything has just been off lately.”

“I can tell; you play with your jewelry when something is bothering you and you’ve been playing around a lot with my promise ring.”

“Sorry, it’s just a habit.”

“Speaking of rings, do your parents know I gave you that?”

“Um… yeah,” I said lying to him.

My parents were too busy planning my wedding than to realize that their daughter had a ring on her finger.

“What did they say about it,” he asked.

“Well, I haven’t told them actually.”

“Then why did you just lie to me?”

“I don’t know I didn’t want you to think I was keeping this away from my parents.”

“Are you keeping it away from your parents?”

“No,” I said nervously.

“Aims, stop lying to me! I know you are lying. I’m not stupid, you think I wouldn’t know when my girlfriend is lying to me if I’ve been dating her for three years?!”

“Can we just drop the topic? I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Whatever you think is best for you Amy…”

There it was he called me Amy instead of Aims. My parents weren’t only ruining my life, but ruining my relationship with Jake as well.
