I breathed deeply as if it was the last breath that I would ever take. I could smell my neighbors lilacs from my bedroom. I sat up in bed and looked out my giant windows. Ah. So beautiful; the waves were crashing on the sand at the beach a couple miles away and the sun was filling the sky with pinkish orange colors. It looked like something Brady would paint. Spring mornings are my favorite thing in the entire world and the thought of Brady enjoying them with me made them even better. Every morning Brady met me at the park and we walked to the café down the street; after we ate we would walk to school hand in hand.
Brady and I have been together for over two years. Our anniversary was about three months ago. I had told him not to get me anything; we agree that we would only spend time with each other not money but he got me something anyway. The got me a promise ring! It's the most beautiful gift that anyone has ever gotten me; it's got a silver band with a small diamond in the center. I know its small but I don't care, I think that its beautiful. I think that Brady is the one. You know, the ONE!
I get up, put on my uniform, and head out. I stroll to the park to meet Brady. I get half way to the park when I see a small rabbit stuck in a hole! I throw my bag to the ground and kneel down onto the muddy grass. I stick my hand into the hole, it was probably from that old post that they took out last week. I can't quite get a hold on the little rabbit so I stick both arms in. AHA! I got him! I pull the bunny out of it trap and hold him close, he must have been in there for quite a while. He was cold and skinny, probably hungry. I took off my jacket and wrapped him in it. I quick texted my mom and Brady.
Me: MEET ME AT MY HOUSE ASAP ITS AN EMERGENCY!!!
I then threw my phone in my bag and yanked it on. I ran home as fast as I could.
Brady: What happened? Are you ok? I'm on my way!
Brady: Lana what's going on?!?!
Brady: I'm getting a little worried! I'm almost there!
Brady: Lana?!
Brady: LANA!!!
Brady: I'M HERE! I'M HERE! I'M GOING THE THE GATE RIGHT NOW! I'M NOT EVEN GONNA KNOCK!Brady burst through the door and yelled my name a few times. "I'm in the kitchen! Hurry!" He ran as fast as he could to me. Aww, he's worried about me! "LANA! YOU'RE OK!!" he gave me a huge hug and then cupped my face gently in both hands, "I love you." And then he kissed me. It was so comforting and warm and soft and gentle. I whispered back to him when we parted, "I love you too." I turned to the sink, where I was running warm water for the bunny. "I was on my way to meet you," I said shutting the water off and walking to the dog bed I had set the rabbit in, "but then I saw this little guy stuck in a hole so I reached in and pulled him out." I picked him up and set him in the makeshift bath. "I see that." Brady laughed, gesturing to my muddied school uniform. "I'm sorry for worrying you." I stated. "It's alright, I'm glad that there was really nothing to worry about in the first place." We exchanged grins and embraced once again; his hugs are my favorite.
~The Next Day ~
Today started out like a fairly normal Wednesday. I got up, got dressed then left for the park. The park was the same as usual and there was Brady sitting on OUR bench, as usual. Everything was how it was supposed to be; I looked at my watch and noticed that I was almost a half hour early. Wow. But why was Brady here early as well. I looked back at Brady and... *VERY LARGE GASP*... he, he's with another girl, they're holding... hands. I waited until she left then I walked up to him as if nothing was wrong. "Hey, how are you sweet heart." I didn't respond, "Lana? Are you ok?" I still didn't respond, "Lana?" I could hold back anymore, "Don't ever call me that again! How could you? I can't believe this!" I burst out in tears and I tried to stop but they just kept rolling down my cheeks like a thunderstorm. "I DONT love you anymore!" I yelled and ran away with my face in my hands. I ran and ran and ran. I stopped only when the tears stopped and that took quite a long time.
I ended up in the middle of no where; I was lost. I called my mom and she came and got me.
~First Day Without Brady~
I stayed home from school today, I really didn't want to see or talk to Brady. I didn't come out of my room either.
~Second Day Without Brady~
I still didn't want to come out of my room. Without Brady life is pointless.
~Third Day Without Brady~
I finally went into the living room to speak to my mom. We sat down on the couch and I said to her, "I don't know what to do. I want to break up with him but... I love him."
"I understand, I had the same dilemma when I was 17 too. But I had only dated this guy for about 3 months. So it's not exactly the same but let me tell you something. If you truly love him, listen to what he has to say and then make your decision. If you don't think that he's worth it, end it but if you do you need to give him a chance."
"And if I decide to break up with him?"
"Then tell him that you enjoyed your time together but you think that you should see other people."
I opened my mouth to ask another question but there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it." My mom said. I followed her to the door but decided to stay and listen from the other room.... I hope it's not Brady.... I hear the door unlatch.... I hope it's not Brady.... The woosh of the door.... I hope it's not Brady.... The creek of the screen door.... I hope it's not.....
"Brady! How are you?"
