Blood Bonds
Chapter 9
Urgent A/N: Hey all, I guess I thought that I may as well continue this due to the popular demand over the reviews. Moreover, my friend has decided to start her OWN Morganville fanfiction calling it ‘Blood Bonds’. Unamused. Let’s just show her that this is the original ‘Blood Bonds’ and no one is going to overthrow it. Hmm? (; Keep reviewing my lovelies.

As the lackey walked towards us, sneering in a menacing fashion, I rapidly thought back to how one should fight in such situations. I couldn't much count on Eve doing much damage to vampires however, saying that, I honestly doubted I could do much either. I just had to hope Michael and Shane got here, pronto.
“It seems your time as an ‘asset’ has come to an end, “The guard, let’s name him Evil 1, smirked. “Amelie no longer needs your assistance and, she informs me that your brother is dead.”
Eve gasps slightly however it is quickly overcome by a look of determination on her face as she realises what happens next. She could no longer be concerned for her brother, but only me and herself.
Confidently, Evil 1 slowly begins walking towards Eve and me, giving Evil 2 a quick glance. With a snarl, his features contort. Gums split allowing his true ‘teeth’ to come through. They were as white as milk and sharp as knives. The perfect killers. His irises turn a deep, crimson shade and contract turning into narrow slits and his skin turns even paler than before. Ice. Quicker than a panther and stronger than a lion, it was almost fascinating how brilliant this species were. It took all his willpower to not stare and actually focus on the crisis at hand. These two men wanted to kill them and I am not going to just stand here and allow that to happen.
The wind suddenly picked up causing an eerie chill to slowly run down my spine, hitting each tendon. Adrenaline began pumping through my blood and the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as the vampire got closer and closer.
Grabbing Eve's hand, I turned her around and pushed her back, starting to run myself. Although it was fruitless, I knew I had to buy us some time and Eve quickly took the hint, setting off at a surprisingly fast pace. Menacing laughs echoed, bouncing off the brick walls as though we were actually inside.
The only sounds were our feet pounding against the gravel as we rapidly navigated around the numerous warehouses and my heartbeat, pulsating in my head as loud as a lions roar. I vaguely wondered if Eve could hear it before shaking my head. Gulping in air, I grabbed Eve's hand once more and pulled her round the side of the nearest wall.
Panting, I try to bring my breath under control and bring my finger to lips and Eve nods, eyes wide as plates, in a cartoon-like fashion. Fits well with the goth theme.
Taking in a deep breath, I slowly peep around the corner to see the creature walking down the gravel, his back turned towards me. His stride isn't slow, nor is it quiet, he has no need to be.
He stops. Turns his head to the left slightly, tilted to one side and takes in a deep breath of air. "It's useless running. I can smell the heavy stench of fear on you." he booms out before fully turning. Just before hiz gaze turns on me, I slip my head back round the corner, out of his vision.
Looking back to Eve, I see her walking to the corner of the building. This is the most run-down part. Bricks are slowly withering away, leaving more of a rubble than building and the ceilings have huge gaps in them, probably due to the fact that the loitering teens were bored.
She bends down to examine something. A confused look flashes on my face as she begins clawing and pulling at something however a few seconds later, she comes to join me with a determined look on her face and two metal poles and a brick.
Although not the best of weapons, they would have to do, she passes one of the poles to me, it seems to be rungs to a ladder. The ends are rusted so she must have easily been able to snap them off and the bricks...well come on.
Shrugging one shoulder, I point towards the ladder and then point to her before taking my place at the wall. I can hear his footsteps, loud and clear now increasing my heart rate knowing that I could potentially die at this vampire's...hunt. This was a game to him and he let us go when we ran. We'll show him who to underestimate.
Narrowing my eyes, I wait until he reaches where I am before swinging the bar around my head, stepping out and, using the momentum of the swing, bring the bar swinging towards his head using as much power as I could muster...with one swift movement, the creature raises a hand, grabbing the bar. His smug smile show off his serrated fangs and, in that moment, I know I this it. This will be my death.
