Chapter 1:

Copyright to me!

"Good Morning sunshine!" That would be my mom. "Five more minutes!" I said through sleep.

And being the drama queen I am, I topped off my performance by throwing my stuffed bear -that

I've had forever- at her back as she walked out.

I rolled out of bed -literally-, got dressed, then skipped outside to hop into my blue Chevy truck I

got for my 16th birthday. As I pulled out of the driveway, I blasted the radio, then hurried over to

pick up Gracie and Hannah- my best friends since Kindergarden.

I pulled up at Gracie's house, and Hannah was already there. "Hey girl! Love the flower skirt and

like Oh Em Gee you are NEVER gonna believe what happened yesterday! So....." That would be

Gracie. Mix a drop dead gorgeous fashionista with a chatty girly girl, and Ba-Bam! You've got

yourself a Gracie Thomas. "You guuyyysss! Save a bagel for ME! And Gracie, that better not be

my coffee in your hand!" And then there's Hannah Lily. Lets start by saying, she's the opposite of

a girly girl. But ironically, she has a high pitched voice. And don't even get me started on her sass.

If I had to rate it on a scale of 1-10, it would be a 12. But they were hard not to love!

"So...." Hannah chirps. "There's a party at Tommy's tonight, and we were just gonna chill, but I

was wondering-" "WOAH! Like hold up for a sec." Gracie practically yells. "I thought we decided

after what happened last time that we were NEVER ever going back there?" "Graciieeeee!!!

Tommy said he would go easy on you this time though!" Hannah barely manages through giggles.

Because everyone knows the story about Gracie and Tommy Edens. They like each other, but

won't date because Tommy said he wouldn't be able to contain himself; Gracie doesn't want to go

any farther than a kiss on the lips. "Please!" I add. "Hey, and Cole will be there" Hannah says

suddenly. -daydream moment-. Cole Roberts was the new kid. He was sizzling. I mean like really

really hot. "Ugh! You guysss! I'll think about it ok? But I'm not promising anything!" Gracie says

grumpily. But we know that means a yes.

We cruise on into the school parking lot, and park in our usual spot, right next to Tommy. We are

getting lots of stares, as usual because we are pretty popular. Not to brag- its just a known fact! So

we get out of the car, and strut into the cafeteria, in our new designer outfits.

First period- Science Lab. Everyone's least favorite. In addition to all the boringness of the

everyday lesson, I also have to sit next to the least popular person in school. Like, major ew. So as

I sit, half listening, half thinking about what I'm going to wear to the party tonight, someone

passes up a note from Cole, and it has MY name on it. My heart was thumping a mile a minute.

And i'm so overwhelmed by the whole thing, that the bell rings, and I sit there for 4 minutes,

trying to get myself together. By the time I'm out of the lab, the late bell rings. Second period is

PE. So I decided to ditch. I went to the bathroom, and texted Gracie who was probably also

ditching PE. And then I remembered the note. So I read it. It said : "Hey babe. I know we havent

had a chance to really meet, but your super cute girl. Meet me at Tommy's tonight in his bedroom

at 10." I was like flipping out. Finally the lunch bell rang.

Lunch. Here's a mental picture: 1000 high schoolers piled into a room no bigger than two

classrooms pushed together. I find Gracie and Hannah and squeeze into their table. "Anything

you want to tell us?!?!" Hannah says excitedly. So great. They know about the note. "I got a note

from Cole." I said, not telling them what it said, just to make them mad. "What did it say!" Gracie

said a little too loudly. "Oops!" She whispered. "It said for me to meet him in Tommy's bedroom at

10 tonight!" I said as quietly as possible. "OMG!" They said at the same time. "Oh Maddie!

Smoochy smoochy!" Gracie said dramatically imitating Cole. "Can it!" I said laughing.

3rd period- ELA. My favorite subject! But the day still seemed to tick by as slow as Christmas. A

billion questions and thoughts were bouncing around in my head, most of which i had no answer

to. And I wasn't paying much attention to the lesson, whatever it was about, but I didn't care. All I

could think about was tonight, and Cole. Cole Cole Cole Cole Cole. A billion questions and

thoughts were bouncing around in my head, most of which i had no answer to. Finally, final bell

rang.

I met the girls at their lockers, and home we went. We went to Gracie's house to pick out our

outfits, and do our hair and makeup because she had the best selection-and her house was the

nicest. As soon as we got there, we plopped down on her huge king sized bed, and did the usual-

talking, snacking, instagraming, and watching girly chick flicks. 4 hours later, Gracie's phone

beeped. It was Tommy. He said: "hey hot stuff. Y'all still comin?" And just like that we were off to

what might just be the best party ever.

When we got to Tommy's, you could already see Gracie getting nervous. But little did anyone

know, my nervous level was Gracie's times 5. "Umm guys! There he is!" Gracie barely murmurs.

Tommy strolls on over. "Hey babe!" He says and kisses Gracie just next to her lips. "Come on in!"

He yells. You can tell he wishes it weren't so loud. But the music was blasting, people talking,

drinks awaiting, so we partied. All. Night. Long.

Quarter to 10 came so much quicker than I thought. So I danced a little more with the girls, and

headed upstairs with five minutes to spare, picturing him sitting there awaiting me. But there was

one little problem, he wasn't there.
