I don't own the majority of the characters in this story, just Maia Stevens.

Maia looked at her now almost-empty room. There were a few boxes scattered on the ground, but besides that, there was nothing.

"Maia, we're leaving soon!" Her mom called from downstairs. Maia glanced at the door, then back at her room, sadly. The thing she would miss the most was her window-seat and the bookshelves that bordered the window-seat.

Slowly walking toward her door, she turned the knob. Maia descended down the stairs to find her dad pushing more boxes to the moving truck. Mr. Stevens turned to her, and sighed.

"Are you excited?" He asked in an energetic tone. Maia just shook her head, and walked past him. She walked over to the passenger car door, and got in.

The ride to the airport seemed short to Maia, even though it was about an hour ride.

"I'll see you guys there. Fly safe." Her dad kissed her forehead and hugged her goodbye. Maia grabbed her bag from the floorboard, and ran to catch up with her mom.

Once they were checked in for their flight, they made their way to the correct boarding gate. Maia got out her earbuds and phone, and started listening to some Fall Out Boy.

About ten minutes later, Maia and her mother were boarding the plane.

This is going to be a long flight.
