She may not seem kind

She may not seem easy

But this is simply a facade

For behind this mask lies someone else

Someone else who is scared

Someone else who is lonely

For she has been hurt before

Because she trusted

She trusted that all were like her

She trusted that all know right

But she was wrong

And suffered from it

So one day she made her mind

She would never let anyone in

Friends will come and she will talk

But what she says is rehearsed

For she is afraid to let them come in

For she knows what they can do

Tear her open and leave her raw

Bleeding on the floor

Or take her away

Piece by agonizing piece

Until she begs

Begs for them to leave her

So she has put up these walls

Walls to keep them out

But she wishes they had no need

For these walls weigh her down

Deep in her heart she is waiting

Waiting for someone to tear down her walls

To show her the world

In all it's glory and warmth

But he has yet to come

So she sits waiting

For this person to pass

And take her with
