"Strike one!" The umpire shouted as the ball went into the catcher's glove. {Y-N} sat on the grass next to the Eagle's dugout watching the game. Matthew, Alfred's brother, was up to bat. The score was tied 4-4 with one out in the 9th inning. The count was 2 balls and 2 strikes and this was the last time they could possibly go up to bat again. "Come on Matthew! Let's go number 23!" {Y-N} shouted from her spot on the grass.

The pitcher looked around the bases and saw that no one was there and spit out a sunflower seed shell. Matthew got back into the batter's box and got into stance waiting for the ball. The pitcher brought his leg up and threw the pitch. Matthew swung... but missed. "Three!" The ump yelled and held up a fist. "Batter's out!" Matthew dejectedly walked away from home plate and passed his brother who patted his shoulder. "It's alright Mattie, don't worry... We can still do this." He said encouragingly. As Alfred was about to walk to the batter's box, the Eagle's head coach called a timeout.

All the Eagle's boys in the dugout swarmed around their coach to hear the game plan while {Y-N} sat from her spot on the grass nervously chewing her bottom lip. They had to win this game, they just had to! "Eagles!" Was heard yelled suddenly and the boys spread out, all except for Alfred who walked behind the fence towards her. He had a nervous smile on his face and he had her stand up.
Everyone, curious as to what the batter was doing, watched in anticipation. "{Y-F-N} {Y-M-N} {Y-L-N}, I have known you since fourth grade. After meeting you I knew you were an amazing woman that was so cool and awesome to become my best friend. You were there for me whenever I needed you, and vise versa. We've laughed together, cried together, hell, we've even beaten mob bosses together!" He said earning a slight chuckle from her lips. He took a deep breath and continued.

"I also knew that our friendship wouldn't last. I knew that we were destined to become more that that. So once we reached tenth grade I asked you out and you gladly said yes." {Y-N} smiled remembering the time when he had made a huge locker sign asking her out on a date with him. "Now here we are, almost three years later and we're still together." The {H-C} headed female noticed that he started to get a bit teary eyed and shaky with his words. "So now I ask you, as your best friend and boyfriend." He said getting down on one knee and holding out a little black box. "Will you be my lucky charm now and be my wife in the future?" He asked, opening the box to reveal a beautiful engagement ring inside.

The crowd anxiously awaited for her answer as she stared down at him with tears coming to her eyes. Alfred looked into the beautiful {E-C} eyes that he had come to love as she stood there speechless. Finally after what seemed like years to Alfred she nodded her head. "Yes, yes I'll marry you!" She cried out while nodding her head. Alfred smiled widely and placed the ring on her ring finger before lifting her up and spinning her around. The crowd smiled and clapped in congratulations the the newly engaged couple and hoped for a wonderful future for the two of them.

Setting her down Alfred gently grabbed her face and planted a kiss on her lips. When he pulled away a blush adorned her cheeks as she wiped the tears away from her cheeks. Smiling so widely that people were sure his mouth would rip, Alfred stepped up to the plate. The pitcher nodded his head at Alfred as he got into his batting stance and watched the wind up.

The pitch was thrown and the sound of the ball hitting the catcher's glove was emitted into the air. "Strike one!" The ump yelled as the catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher. Climbing back up the pitcher's mound he spit and spun the ball so the laces were in the shape of a backwards 'C'. Winding up again he threw the ball. "Strike two!" The ump yelled as Alfred just watched the balls go by. "Come on Alfred!" {Y-N} and the rest of the Eagles in the dugout screamed.

Alfred stepped out of the box and took a look at you before winking and stepping back in. Moving the end of the bat in a circular motion he watched the pitcher throw the ball. The sound of the bat hitting the ball was heard as the outfielders ran back to the fence to try and catch the ball. The center fielder being the fastest ran at the fence in a mad dash in hopes of catching the ball. Alfred ran from home to first, to second and halfway to third before he heard screams. The Eagles in the dugout came running out jumping and screaming.

"Home run! That ball went right over the fence!" His teammate, Kiku, yelled as he watched everyone slap Alfred's back or hug him. Laughing Alfred ran to the diamond in the ground and stepped on it before running back to his teammates. Their navy blue hats went flying in the air as they celebrated their victory. Alfred looked to {Y-N} and ran out of the field and grabbed her in a tight hug. "You did it! You won!" She happily yelled and wrapped her arms around his neck. He smiled before running back onto the field where he had to shake hands with the other team, each one congratulating him on winning the game, and winning the heart of a beautiful girl.
