Part 3 | Dangerous
The wind whipped around him as he ran down the dark alley. The high-quality latex suit stretched fluidly with his sprint. The sound of dogs barking and howling at the moon could be heard a block away. Looking at the worn-out paint on the walls felt a little bit nostalgic, the howling dogs could send him back to a time when life was simple. Much more simple than it was now as he was being chased by Sunblast yet again.
He saw it as he turned left into the seemingly endless maze of turns. The further he ran, the darker it seemed to get. There was a dead end in this turn, he knew it. He did not have anything to worry about. Getting a renewed sense of confidence, he kicked his legs faster, dashing towards the dead end b—
"I got you!" The man in gold shouted. You can sense his smile.
Haunt fell down, the ground feeling like a brick wall with the amount of pressure Sunblast was putting down his body. He huffed, the man in gold restrained his arms behind his back. Haunt closed his eyes, but Sunblast enveloped them in a mildly searing heat and this did not help him concentrate.
Their bodies were far different from each other. Haunt was shorter, his body lithe and toned from a discipline of running, climbing and getting from one point to the other in the big city of Westfront. He preferred it over levitation, he was less vulnerable in motion. Sunblast, on the other hand, was tall at about 6 feet. His body was muscular and intimidating. Clearly, he was far stronger in force than the smaller figure. Just because Haunt was restrained, did not mean that Sunblast had the upper hand.
With a loud huff, Haunt's body slipped down the ground in the blink of an eye, Sunblast's chest making a faint thud as it hit the ground. His body heat rose and he was about to punch the ground with a fiery fist. Four arms shoot out of the ground, all roughly gripping the back of the blonde hero's head before bringing it forward fast, successfully slamming Sunblast's face into the solid pavement.
The lithe hero slips out of the floor, using the momentum of the slam to land on his feet.
"I am not joining your stupid group." The raven-haired figure scoffed, rolling his eyes.
"Ouch." Sunblast raises a hand, his index finger pointed.
Haunt moves toward the blonde, lending him a hand.
"Come on. Up up up."
He takes it and slowly lifts himself to a sitting position.
"Clever trick." He groaned, massaging his temples.
Haunt stood there, passive, staring at the muscular hero. He could not wrap his head around the idea that a group of superpowered individuals were intent in making him join their circle. He did not do well in groups.
Sunblast stood up, grabbing Haunt's wrist. His large hand feeling like a large handcuff around the smaller male's wrist. His hand was warm; warmer than the average human that's for sure.
"You need to join us, Haunt. What you're doing is vigilantism." The blonde sounded firm.
"I bring them in unharmed." Haunt scoffed, trying to snatch his arm back.
Sunblast tightened his grip, pulling the shorter male closer. They were very close. Haunt could feel the warm breath fan over his cheeks. He smelled like freshly mowed grass. Fresh and clean. The longer they stayed that way, the closer Haunt felt they were getting. Uncomfortably close.
