I hate meetings, more so if it involves yelling moms. Nick got us a birthday party to plan, it's a beautiful five year old with one loud mom. She called in the morning confirm when we will be showing up at her home and I swear I got a headache . Hopefully Nick ain't late, can't have her yell at me only.
I meet Nick outside Mr's John's house.
"I always wanted to say this to you, so I'll do it gladly, you are late"
"I tried my best let's go in already"
"We are done with the meeting"
"I just got here , how is that possible? "
"I knocked, she said hi and gave me this book with all the details"
"She dragged me out of bed only to hand over a note book, is she out of her mind? "
"Let it go, I have to go to a few places before going back to the restaurant, she demanded a petting zoo idea, she needs to know the price by the end of the day"
"Hmm, did she also decide on the animals she needs in her baby's birthday party ? "
"Yeah it's written in here, Australian animals only"
"Well good luck finding a Kangaroo"
"Maybe we should go together"
"Naah between kangaroo seeking and sitting down all day at the restaurant, I pick sit sores so see you later "
"I can't believe you choose the restaurant over me, thought I made great company"
"Well you are not the problem, the animals are, you know I'm zoo phobic right? "
"Ok see you later and please stay away from the freezer"
"You know me well"
I hug him goodbye and leave for the restaurant. It's not a long drive, I get there and sit at the counter, something I'm used to . I check my phone for any recent e-mails and any online notifications. Many people choose to have their details delivered via internet, which makes our work a whole lot easier other than running around meeting people just for them to hand you a note book, damn that mother . I notice a few interesting gigs and decide to take it to the office. We have one office set aside for business issues. Hardly do I sit than a knock gets me up again. I get the door and to my ultimate surprise.
"What the hell are you doing here? "
"We need to talk"he says walking in uninvited.
"I'm curious, about what? "I lock the door behind him.
"I'm so sorry"
"Sorry is what you say for being late for a date not screwing me knowing you have a wife back at home"
"I'm here to explain myself more so to apologize, "
"So where will you start, because I have a long list of things you can never make up for"
"I'm not a pervert, sleeping around isn't who I am"
"So when you saw me at the balcony, was it on me that I'm the type who doesn't mind hooking up , more so with a married man? "
"I'll tell you as it is, you are attractive, everyone at the party can confirm that, I was maybe the lucky one who got the chance to date you, I know I took it far when we had sex, but I was going to tell you I'm married, that's why I insisted on a third date"
"So on this third date, were you going to be honest and tell me about your marriage? "
"I was going to tell you everything"
"Then what, ask me to be your mistress? "
"I know you are angry, and I know I met you when I'm already married, but this isn't casual sex, it has feelings, I really have a soft spot for you, I love you"
"You know , I'm waiting to hear that your marriage is broken or that you are getting a divorce, but no , you are a happily married man because if it was otherwise, then maybe I'd consider to be with you, because for all the wrong reasons, I happen to love you too"
"If being married is the problem then forgive me, I wouldn't want my daughter to come from a broken home, she's special to me"
"I'm so sorry liam, but I won't be the reason of your unfaithfulness, I need you to leave and never come back"
He moves close to touch me, I let him, he comes closer stares at me and all I was able to do is cry.
"I'm sorry, I hurt you" he kisses my cheek and walks out of the door.
Why does it hurt more seeing him go, and for a moment I actually consider running to his arms, so I decide to call the one person whose specialty is going against all the moral values that exist. I dial in a jiffy and wait for her to pick up.
"Hello baby, long time no hear"
"Hey mom"feeling glad that she has my number saved in her cell phone.
"If I knew you'd call, I would have cancelled my hair appointment"
"If you are busy I could just call you tomorrow, you can schedule that"
"Don't be rediculous baby, I have time before the appointment, so how are you? "
"Not good mom, I need to ask you something"
"Ask baby, you know you can ask me anything"
"A married man just asked me to be his woman, he says he loves me"
"Do you love him? "
"Yes I do"
"Then be with him"
"It's so wrong mom,he's married, how can I do that to another woman? "
"Honey it's not a fair world, you can't just sit around and start being fair yourself, married men are a catch, and if he has money even better"
"You are still on money? "
"At the end of the day if he isn't taking care of you, why get into it anyway, my point is if he's the reason as to why you laugh, why you day dream , if he makes you feel like the only woman in the world, then take the chance, at the end of the day he has more to loose than you"
"I don't know what to say"
"Think about it baby, and tell me what you decide by tomorrow , makes sure you call before noon, have a great day baby"
"Goodbye mom"
That's my mom, yeah principles ain't her thing.
