In my theory, which is undoubtedly quite strange, is that we are nothing more than spirits who walk on a plain that was merely created by our consciences. Reality, as said above, is an abyss of hallucinations, which in where we all are able to see what others hallucinate or in simpler terms, what they see in reality. I would say that we create this plain to give us a sane ground, that helps us have a physical bound to our interactions to other spirits, or people.
