Plot:
Kassie was an adrenaline junkie. All her friends said so, all her relatives told her so.
Kassie jumped off planes. She boxed against men twice her size. She climbed frozen cliffs in the Alps, she skiied (even though she's never been taught) along mountains. It was a rare occurrence if Kassie didn't have some kind of cast on, or if she wasn't covered in bruises and scrapes, because as soon as one broken bone healed, she was off again, travelling far away and doing dangerous things just for the hell of it.
So when Mystic Falls is declared a ghost town and everyone is forbidden to go there, Kassie gets a sudden urge to visit her hometown. But this time, Kassie doesn't just break a few bones or get a couple of bruises- Kassis loses her life.
But just as she's slipping away, a shadowy figure arrives at the scene and tries desperately to save her, even feeding her his blood. But it's too late. Kassie dies, but the vampire blood she has makes her rise again.
And when she wakes, she's thirsting for blood, but Stefan Salvatore calms her. He tells her everything will be okay, and Kassie believes him.
But her reckless streak doesn't go away, only amplifies, and Kassie soon finds herself in deeper trouble than she ever could have imagined.
"Brother, what have you done?"
"She was dying, Damon! I had to try and help her."
'Well, well done, Stefan. She's saved. And you're screwed.'
