"How in heck did Sam end up with my frigging iPad?" Jenny asked, crossing her arms over her chest and pouting, even though she was 17 years old. Grow up a bit...
Who am I kidding? She's Jenny.
She was pretty obviously P.O.ed about getting stuck in the aisle seat of the plane instead of being next to Sam and happily watching Netflix, but I had to be a human shield between the two. After all, I didn't want her and Sam to start hitting each other again.
Our friend who was accompanying us on the trip to Florida, Ashlynn, was sitting at the window seat and staring into the clouds as she listened to "Nine in the Afternoon" by Panic! At the Disco, her curly hair pulled back in a ponytail. Lucky her, for being so oblivious of Jenny and Sam's bickering. Jenny and Sam were supposed to be sitting together, but...things happened. Things of the violent kind.
"Oh, I dunno. Maybe because you almost slapped him?" I said, looking up from my book and popping yet another Skittle in my mouth. She pouted harder. I had a point, though. Even though Sam had taken her iPad, that didn't mean that she got to try to whack him multiple times. So Sam got the iPad.
"But Caron..." She whined. "He's using my iPad to watch my favorite show on my Netflix account, taking up my data." She leaned over me to Sam and I pushed her back in her seat. No more violence on my watch, even though our chaperone was right in front of us and was technically supposed to be supervising. "I can't even watch it," she whined some more, wanting desperately to watch with Sam. I rolled my eyes but snapped in front of Sam's face. He paused the show and looked up at me, glaring at the fact that I had interrupted season 10 of Supernatural. Oh, well. Sam, that priss, can't get everything that he wants.
"Can you two nerds get along long enough to watch the show, or do I have to keep being a safety blankie for the plane ride?" I sassed him, not wanting to hear their stupid arguing all the way to Florida. For goodness sake, we were still on the plane to Chicago! I glanced around for help, but Liam was listening to a Pentatonix song so loudly that I could hear it from across the aisle, plus he was staring at the good-looking dude next to him, smoothing down his unruly red hair. He was obviously out of commission at the moment. And Luke...don't even get me started on him, because that stupid little boyfriend of mine was flirting with the girl next to him. Ugh! He really pushed my buttons.
Sam looked over at Jenny, who was giving him the puppy dog face. "She almost hit me," Sam said, a smirk playing on his lips. Yes, I know, Sam, darling. But I don't exactly care.
"You twat, you started it by taking the iPad!" She snarled, trying to smack any reachable place on his body. I put my hand on her face and pushed her back into her seat (again).
"Jerk. So no, I don't think we can, Caron. Sorry," Sam said as he leaned back to get away from Jenny, who was still trying to hit him from across me. I winced as her fingernails grazed my cheek, but when I went to check it, there was no blood. Just a scrape.
I sighed and finally gave up. "Move, Jenny" I said, and she jumped up. Collapsing in her new seat, she grabbed her iPad from Sam. He whined in protest. (He's 17, too. I don't even know why I hang out with those two immature nerds, even though they're only a year older than me.)
"Shush, we can keep watching. It's mine, though, so I'm holding it," she said with a Jenny-ish smart aleck look on her face.
"Control freak," he said, a teasing glimmer in his eyes as he leaned over her to look at Dean and Castiel looking at each other intensely.
"You know I am, Sam."
I rolled my eyes at the best friends and put in my headphones. I sunk deep into a Fall Out Boy song, forgetting the hecticness that was life while people-watching. A girl across from us in a blue tank top was leaning against her boyfriend, who I guess was kinda cute, with his brown hair and blue eyes. Not really my type, though.
