As I was limping towards the shop I thought I could hear a police

siren wailing in the distance. I started running as fast as I could. My

heart was thumping, my legs were aching. A police car was

skidding around the corner with a police officer shouldering a

machine gun. As he aimed the gun at me I dropped to the

ground flat on my face. The bullet slammed into the shop window

in front of me. The glass shattered everywhere. I was lying on the

floor clutching my right wrist. A piece of glass had sliced open my

wrist. Blood was oozing out of it. As I got up I tried to stop the

blood flowing with my T-shirt. I had blood all over me.

As I ran I held my wrist to my stomach. I had pains all over my

body. I could hear another police car in the distance. I could

barely see. As I ran I slid into an alleyway. There was a metal

holding on for dear life. I knew I was going to die. And then I had

an idea. The window which was directly parallel to my feet looked

breakable. If I failed to pull this off I would die. I jumped. My body smashed into the window at force breaking it. The glass shattered

everywhere. I landed on the carpeted floor with a thud. Blood

was flowing out of my left shoulder. But that was the least of my

worries. I had made it. I was safe, or was I? Everything that had

happened seemed to have jumped out of me. But then

everything came flooding back. My heart was thumping. I started

panicking. What had become of the police officer at ground

level? Did he think I was dead or had he seen what had

happened. I had to act fast. The police everywhere would be

looking for me. As I went for the door in front of me I noticed that

the room was cluttered with desks. But just when I was about to

open the door a police officer smashed through it knocking me

backwards. He was cradling a machine gun. His finger was 1inch

from the trigger. As he was about to fire I plunged my fist into his

stomach winding him. I quickly bent down and scooped up the
