Soon Alice reached a clearing that held water and when she looked in little Alice discovered that she wasn't so little anymore, why she looked to be seventeen. Alice looked about herself and discovered that the water hadn't been distorting her image at all, it had been dead correct.
Alice cupped the water or the pond in her hands and drank it for she was so thirsty and after that everything flicked in and out of existence. Alice ran across the clearing into the ever denser forest and in the densest area she saw a smile, a lone smile floating in the air with the sharpest teeth Alice had ever seen, and then a cat floated into existence and when Alice looked startled it only smiled more.
"I'm going mad," Alice sobbed with her face in her hands.
"We're all mad here," the cat replied, only smiling more.
"You can talk?" she asked.
"That would appear to be the case," the cat smiled.
"Well what's your name then?"
"Why I'm known by many names, but you can call me," The cat zoomed up close, "The Cheshire Cat" with the biggest smile anyone could ever smile.
"Why, Mr Cheshire Cat, I appear to be lost, could you tell my where I am?"
"Well Alice, your kind often call it Wonderland," Cheshire smiled.
"It doesn't seem to wondrous," Alice said harshly.
"That's because this is not wonderland, and you are not Alice" Cheshire's smile went flat, "Honey, I'd stick your tail between your legs and run home, there are people here who would rip that dress of you in two seconds flat, especially with how tight that thing is"
Alice looked at her dress, her white stockings were ripped and dirty, and her blue dress was too short and too tight.
"How do you know my name?" she demanded "And how do I get home?"
"Why child your somewhat famous around here and darling this is your home now, there's no way of getting back to your land, you'll die down here." Cheshire said his smile returning, he was actually a rather beautiful cat, his fur was black and white strips with one blue eye and one violet one.
"Is there anywhere I can go?" Alice asked, afraid of the answer.
"Why indeed there is, she is a beautiful lady called the White Queen, when she was in power everything was lovely, then the Red Queen took over and did this" Cheshire replied while glancing around, "the White Queen will take care of you, the Red Queen will kill you.
"Oh I see; well how do I reach this White Queen without running into the Red?" Alice asked, clearly over joyed to be given a distinct task.
"Why its not easy but the Hatter could take you there, I know he knows how and he's just over there you see? Cheshire beamed and rolled in the air and faded out of existence.
"No I don't see! Please come back!" Alice yelled in frustration, only the Cat was really gone.
"Oh bother," was all Alice said as she looked about the clearing, wondering which way to go.
