Drive. Right at second base.
That's me.
It's aiming for my face. I cover my conplexion with my glove, and step over.
I breath.
SLAP!
I close my glove. A round, yellow object filled the space. My team was screaming, jumping up and down.
"OMG, Eliza!" and "Triple A, here we come!" flooded my mind.
I got the last out. Of the game.
But... now...
We go to Triple A.
The concrete game.
*************
A week later
Girls, we leave for Triple A tomorrow.
Coach's words still wander in my head. I lay on my bed, looking at the stars. I really need to start packing. All I got so far is my uniform. Coach said new ones would be provided, but wear these ones to the opening ceremonies.
A whole week of softball.
Three days for practice, 4 days to play. 3 teams, one winner.
I collect my tolitries, glove, and bat. No clothes, said coach. I threw a pair of underclothes in, just in case.
I went online to look up this years location, and the teams competing. Good news, and bad.
Location: Chesapeke Bay. Good news.
Teams: Our arch rivals.
Tetamount and Westbrooke.
Bad news.
