Chapter 3

~Katie's P.O.V~

I just got a call from Niall telling me to meet him at Nandos in 15 minutes, and that it was about the notes.

~Flashback~

I woke up to a sleepy Harry in the kitchen trying to find some ibuprofen. My mum and dad were away for the weekend at some weird convention in the states, so I told Harry he could stay over.

"Where's your medicine cabinet? I've got the worst headache," Harry asked drowsily.

"Your looking in the wrong place Hun," I responded, "I'll go get it. Will you turn on the stove? I'll make you some pancakes."

"Thanks love."

I ambled into the bathroom and open the medicine cabinet. While searching for the medication I heard a crash.

I ran into the kitchen and saw that a glass of water was dropped by Harry.

"What the heck!" I yelled. And he just pointed at the television.

"We've got breaking news, there has been a hit and run victim found unconscious on the side of the road early this morning. The young lady who was hit is named Elissa Parker, mother of 3 children. The women who found her was on her way to the grocery store to get some milk and saw the Elissa on the side of the road. We are still waiting for some feedback from the doctors to see how she is doing. Back to you-" The anchorwoman said, but was cut off by Harry turning off the T.V.

We both just sat there. We both knew it was us. I dashed up to my room and slammed the door shut and started sobbing. I almost killed that lady and she might still die! What did I do? I was driving and it was all my fault! My mum and dad were going to kill me and I was just going to go to Hell. 

After a good ten minutes of crying, I ran out of tears and heard a knock on my door.

"Babe?" Harry asked.

I went over to the door and opened up. He walked me back to my bed and sat next to me. I buried my head into his chest, I thought I was out of tears. I was wrong. Harry was trying to be strong, but I saw the hurt in his eyes.

"This is all my fault. Everyone is going to know and it's going to ruin my life completely!"

"Shh, nobody needs to know. Just or secret. Okay?" He assured.

And we just sat there.. In silence. Knowing that we possibly killed someone.

~End of Flashback~

I headed inside Nandos, Niall was sitting towards the back. I walked to him awkwardly which made him laugh his head off.

"I ordered for us already." Niall said starting off the conversation.

"Cool. I'm quite hungry, so I could eat about anything." I replied.

"Someone finally understands me!" He hollered back.

"Anyway. Notes?" I asked.

"I've got mine. Did you bring yours?" Niall asked.

"Yeah I did. Here read it yourself."

He read the note in his head and was shaking his head in disbelief. Niall read aloud his note in a hushed voice. "So you heard about your little friend's note? I know her secret and I know yours too."

~Niall's P.O.V~

I had to leave out the first part of the note or who knows what she would do. She would absolutely flip out!

The food arrived and we ate, not knowing what to say. It didn't quite matter to me though because just being able to sit and eat with Katie is more than I could ask for, even under the circumstances which brought us here. She is so beautiful and I hate myself for not taking my chance with her when I had it. Instead Harry swooped down and asked her out. 

After a good 10 minutes of eating and talking about the weather, Katie finally spoke up.

"We can't tell Harry, or anyone else. We don't want to worry them. Let's just figure this out ourselves."

"Agreed!" I responded.

"I better go set up for tonight. Your coming right?"

"Yeah, see you there." I reassured her.

I really wish I weren't coming. Knowing that there will be two couples at the party that will definitely be a big factor in tonight's 'drama'. Whatever that will be.
