"Who's the new hottie?" Yasmin, Brooklyn's little sister from year 7, asked as she sat down; dumping her bag on the floor.
Brooklyn rolled her eyes.
"The 'hottie' is called our friend, Yasmin, and-"
"He's right behind you," The husky angelic voice said from behind her.
I bit my lip nervously, as Valerie and I looked behind her shoulder; and grinned at the new boy's amused expression.
Somehow, Valerie was able to detach her brown eyed gaze away from his blue one; and text on her purple BlackBerry.
Brooklyn's phone went off after a few seconds; buzzing on the table in front of her. She picked it up, and read Valerie's text.
He's actually behind you B. Val :L xx
Brooklyn looked up at Valerie, biting her lip, her cheeks flaming with embarrassment.
"Hey, it's 'kay." He said, as he sat down next to me; opposite Brooklyn, Yasmin and her friend: Lily Ashley; Valerie's little sister, also in year 7.
Yasmin, however, was staring at him like he was Edward Cullen himself. Her mouth was open, and her eyes wide; as if she were capturing every inch of him with one look.
"And who's this little lady?" He asked, grinning at Yasmin. She followed her sister's lead, blushing a pinky colour.
"My little sister," Brooklyn mumbled, pretending to look busy. Her gaze snapped to Yasmin. "Yaz, introduce yourself, you daft blonde,"
Yasmin's eyes darted to her sister's face, her eyes still wide from the shock of his gorgeous looks.
"Umm...yeah..." Yasmin stammered, blinking. "Yasmin Santiago," She poofed her blonde fringe a little.
He nodded. "Nice name," He turned his head back towards Brooklyn. "She looks alot like you-" He stopped, biting his lip. "Oh yeah - you're sisters,"
Brooklyn grinned looking up, finally laughing along with us.
"So, anyone else got any siblings in the school?" He asked, rolling his gorgeous eyes.
Valerie nodded shyly.
Lily Ashley, who coincidentally was sitting next to Yasmin - also a year 7, put some of her coppery curls behind her ear, revealing pale skin, with a few freckles dotted around her cheeks.
"Hey," Lily whispered, as her eyes darted to Valerie. She nodded encouragingly, smiling.
"She's shy, with the new school," Valerie explained.
"Hey, why don't we let them walk with us to school?" Brooklyn asked Valerie.
Because Beth here like to take forever picking out her shoes," Valerie grinned at me.
"I do not!" I fired back defensively, crossing my arms over my chest.
Zach chuckled: dark, mysterious, and...familiar-
"Yeah, Beth! It's your fault," Brooklyn scolded playfully, snapping me from my reverie and sticking her tongue out at me like we were back in nursary.
I rolled my eyes. "Hey, it's not my fault all my shoes beg me to wear them and making new shoe buddies. You just can't have a shoe without a friend - that's just sad," I said, the word flowing out my mouth before I could stop them. I put my hand over my mouth, my cheeks flaming. Zach smirked, as Valerie and Brooklyn burst out laughing.
"Please, you're killing me, Bethy," Valerie laughed out, holding her stomach.
I rolled my eyes, putting my hand back down - my cheeks were still pink.
"So, what about you Beth - any siblings?" Zach asked, smirking.
"Yes, Zach. I have a brother, who Brooklyn here is crushing on..." I grinned at the now deep pink-cheeked Brooklyn.
"Not my fault he's cute," She muttered, folding her arms over her chest and sink down into her chair.
"Yeah, Ashley-James Patterson is so hot, like," I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"Oh, he is!" Brooklyn blurted, then her cheeks went toward a shade of red. She pursed her lips.
"Hey, here's an idea." I said, turning to Zach, an idea coming to mind. He looked at me, his eyes sparkling from the sunlight; all his boyish features highlighting his ivory skin-tone.
"Yeah?" He husked in a whisper, just loud enough for me to hear. It sent familiar shivers down my spine, sending me into some sort of daze - looking into those eyes.
"Yeah?" He asked again, raising an amused eyebrow, smirking.
I shook my head, looking down at my phone in my hands.
"Umm..." I'd forgotten what I was going to say. After a moment, I remembered: "Oh, yeah. How about you being best friends with my brother. Like, go to football matches and stuff," I looked up at him without thinking. "Hey, you could join the team!"
I mentally gasped, as he winced a little - barely noticeable if you weren't looking for it.
"I'll think about it," He said, the smiled, biting his lip from the inside.
"Umm, okay. Just tell me, and I'll ask him for you, if you like,"
He nodded, as the bell for our third lesson went.
"What do we have?" I asked Brooklyn, as Zach walked off toward the English department.
"Umm, let me look," She started rummaging around in her bag for her timetable. "Ooh! English Literature. Fun..." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
English. That meant I could be in the same class as Zach...
"Mr. Greene?" The voice in my head asked.
Why had the voice said my English teachers' name?
"Because it's my next teacher too," The voice said again huskily. It sounded almost like- No. That's impossible.
I shrugged it off, walking to E3 - Mr. Greene's English classroom. I kept replaying the words in my head: "Mr. Greene?...Because it's my next teacher too..."
