I see Liam standing there in shock.
"Liam what you heard... I was just"
I don't finish.
Liam walks over to me, grabs my face and kisses me. He holds me tight and I feel his strong arms around me. My arms wrap around his neck. Unlike Harry, Liam's lips are rough, but a good rough. His mouth is minty and addicting.
When he stops, I wait for him to say something, anything.
"I'm sorry." he finally says.
"It's fine." he steps back and sits down on the couch.
"So how long have you had these feelings?"
"Awhile, but I never said anything. I got over it, well never completely but you left and I had too." I say.
"Damn it Liz, why didn't you ever tell me!"
I jump at his yelling, but go and sit next to him, placing my hand on his leg.
"I didn't think you felt the same. Trust me I wanted to, but after we went to the fountain and you rejected me, you kinda confirmed my doubts." I say.
He lets a huff of air kinda like a laugh.
He looks down at my hand resting on his leg and grabs it, taking it into his own.
"Liz I've always liked you. We are best friends. How could I not? I've known you longer than anyone else in my life."
"Actually I think your parents and sister have me beat." I say laughing
Liam shakes his head and laughs too.
"See, you're always making smile and you are so important to me. I don't get how you don't see that."
"Well when someone has girlfriend, think it's pretty easy not to get."
He shakes his head. "That's not fair."
"So what do we do. Do you love her?"
He looks up at me. "Yeah, I do, I think I do."
We sit in silence for awhile. My hand still in his.
"I can't just do this, you know, just ends things with her." "I'm not asking you too." I say.
He lets out another big breath of air rubbing his thumbs against my hand and throwing head back on the couch. "Any other time, but now"
"I understand Liam, you're not going to leave her for me, and I don't I'll just have to get..."
Liam stops me by kissing me again.
This time more needy and urgent then the first time. He pulls at my hair tie letting my hair fall. He tangles his fingers in my hair as I do the same. He gently pushes me so I'm lying on my back, never breaking the kiss.
We both stop to catch our breath and Liam looks into my eyes.
"Thats just it. I don't want to get over it. I don't want to get over you Liz ." I smile.
"Me either, but Liam I don't want to be that girl who ruins someone's relationship." I sit up moving a little away from him.
"I understand." He says rubbing the back of his neck.
"So I'll be the one to say it. Lets just forget this happened."
"Liz.."
"No Liam, really it's what's best, there's no point of this if we can't act on it. Maybe you should just go."
