The sensation of falling is a rather peculiar one indeed. It matters not the distance or setting - feeling one's body detached from the ground, momentarily suspended in air, always leaves room for indefinite thought; however, the pitch of night fills the ordeal with far more suspense. So now, with the knowledge that soon his face would be introduced to its new, hard acquaintance (the pull of gravity was at least kind enough to tell him that he was now almost upside down), Mark waited for the inevitable.
